HI ALL

AS A DVC MEMBER I PLAN IN THE NEAR FUTURE TO DO THE 7 DAYS CRUISE WITH MY POINTS.

I HAVE AN IMPORTANT QUESTION ABOUT THE REAL COSTS OF THE CRUISE. AFTER YOU BOOKED THE CRUISE WHAT ARE THE "NON-INCLUDED" THINGS TO PAY ONBOARD?

I KNOW THAT THE EXCURSIONS, SOUVENIRS AND OTHER SIMILAR ITEMS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE (IN DOLLARS OR POINTS) OF THE CRUISE, BUT I AM AFFRAID TO HAVE SOME "SURPRISE" EXPENSES.

HOPING YOUR ADVICE FROM YOU, CRUISE EXPERTS

As you said, souvenirs are not included. Sodas, alcoholic beverages(except at receptions) and excursions are the only things that we paid for. Also, don't forget the tips.
<Script language='Javascript'>var rndNum = Math.floor(Math.random() * 10000);eval("var CDTDate" + rndNum + " = 'February 2, 2003 5:00:00 PM EST';");document.writeln("<form name='CDTform" + rndNum + "' action='Javascript:void(0);'>");document.writeln('<font size=2 color=blue> :earsgirl: :earsboy:Time Left to our DVC Members Cruise</font><br>');document.writeln("<input type=text value='' size=40 name='WrittenByJamesMVenglarikII'>");document.writeln("</form>");if (theFunction) theFunction += "var d = new Date();";else var theFunction = "var d = new Date();";theFunction += "var c = new Date('" + eval("CDTDate" + rndNum) + "');";theFunction += "var diff = (c - d)/1000;";theFunction += "var days = Math.floor(diff / 86400);";theFunction += "var rem = diff - (days * 86400);";theFunction += "var hours = Math.floor(rem / 3600);";theFunction += "rem = rem - (hours * 3600);";theFunction += "var minutes = Math.floor(rem / 60);";theFunction += "rem = rem - (minutes * 60);";theFunction += "var seconds = Math.floor(rem);";theFunction += "if ((days < 0) | (hours < 0) | (minutes < 0) | (seconds < 0)) ";theFunction += "var out = 'Gone! The only real extra cost is the tips for your stateroom host, servers, etc. You could technically get away without spending any more on board than that.

Things that cost extra are sodas (outside of meal times - they are included at sit down meals), portraits the ship's photographer makes that you may want to purchase, tips for room service delivery (food is free, soda's will incur a charge), all alcoholic drinks, spa services, $5/person charge for dinner and $10/person for brunch at Palo's if you choose to do those (added tip for Palo's server since the $5 and $10 are split between everyone and your server will probably impress you with wonderful service).

There may be a few other little things. My husband and I did the 7 day a few years ago and I believe we spent an extra $275 for the week (not including tips). I know some people think it's impossible to get off that cheaply, but I don't even feel like we skimped. I hardly ever drink, but DH had a couple of drinks a day, I bought a few things in the ship stores, we ate at Palo's, we bought a photo at Shutter's from each of the formal nights, etc.

Good luck!

Just got back from a 3-day Disney Wonder cruise and spent less than $200, including tips, for myself and two boys (ages 5 and 13). Bought refillable cups for boys and a couple of pictures and a few things on Castaway Cay. Didn't buy any drinks--got them free during the Castaway Club reception for repeat guests. And we had a great time!
