'Real' conversations with CM's

My 4 year old was excited to ride Star Tours but when we got through the line and were about to grab a seat, he freaked. The CM's were so nice and let us exit on through to wait for DH to finish the ride. We were in the back hallway and they both spent the whole ride time trying to get my son to smile. They even pulled out light sabers and had a joust. My son still refused to ride but after DH's ship unloaded, they let me sneak on first so I could ride.

Our 2nd trip to Disneyland in 2006 was pretty awesome.
On the drive there (from Vegas), we had a grasshopper on the hood of the car for most of the drive. I guess at some point the hood started getting too hot, because it would pick one "foot" up at a time--then it became two feet, and then soon it was all it's feet and it went up and over the roof. I told DS (who was a bit worried about the darn thing) that Jimney Cricket must have wanted to go to Florida and WDW instead of DL and California.

We were staying at the DLH, and we drove in a bit early, so had a wait for our room. Wandering around the hotel, taking pictures, etc. We ran into Goofy outside. My almost 3 year old son was trying sooo hard to get the "automagic" (his words) doors to open, but he was too short to trigger them. Goofy came up and was doing "magic" moves to open and close the doors. Then they sat and played with DS's Lightning McQueen car for about 10 minutes. They compared muscles and DS told him about how Jimney Cricket tried to hitch a ride on our car, but that mom said he must have decided to go to Florida instead--and Goofy started giggling.

Our room was ready about then, so we said goodbye to Goofy and went up to clean up for dinner and DTD.

We had dinner that night at Goofy's Kitchen, and when Goofy came around, DS had to show him the LM car again. Goofy wrote on the tablecloth "You changed his shirt! w/o car, I wouldn't have recognized him". Made us adults giggle.

This is a great thread!! :thumbsup2

On one trip (I was 18 at the time), my little brother loved Chip n Dale, so they were out near Main Street (I believe) and we met them and one of them (not sure which one ;)) was a little "friendly" with me, hugging and holding on during photos. We said our goodbyes and went into a store, when we came out of the store, there was Chip (or Dale :upsidedow) plucked a flower right from a pot and got down on one knee, kissed my hand and gave it me!! I was in shock and everyone in my family was just laughing! Definitely a Disney moment to remember :rotfl:

DD18 is, and always has been, a huge Mulan fan. We have to look for her every trip (even last fall, at age 18!). The year DD was either 15 or 16, we were passing by "China," looking for Mulan, and there she was, all by herself. There was NOBODY around the pavilion, so we went up and chatted for a few minutes. Mulan took DD inside the pavilion and walked around the display cases, talking about China, its history, and its people. Totally not what we expected for a character meeting, and definitely the best character interaction ever! pixiedust:

SO...JEALOUS... LOL That would be AWESOME. We loved Mulan at the Norway Princess Breakfast...she told the boys that she should be their favorite princess, because she was a WARRIOR. Then she told them if they came to the China Pavilion later, she would introduce them to Mushu. They wouldn't do it. But she was the most friendly of the princesses!

My DH and DS took me to Disney for my 40th last year (had a wonderful time, we were there for MNSSHP and were also there when MK turned 40 (just not at the park that day)). We found Pirate Goofy at POTC and stopped and got pictures. He signed my autograph book and seeing my name on my BD pin, he pointed to me and rubbed his belly, and I said yes, I love Gingerbread cookies too, but I was concerned it made me a cannibal and he doubled over holding his stomach as if he was dying laughing....it was just a knee jerk reaction from me, I wasn't thinking what I was saying and he made my day by "laughing" at it.....

these are all so funny guys (im still on page 15 though:lmao:)
I was watching some "spieling peter" videos on youtube, do any characters walk around casually like that at Disney World?

It was closing time and we were last in line for space mountain.. This was extra magic hours so they were done for the night.. As we get into the ride we look behind us and see all the cast members jump on!! The one controlling the ride pressed the button and hopped on! :rotfl2:

You'd be surprised the stories the Cast Members can tell you about our areas. Most of us LOVE to talk. :D

I chatted with a CM at the Monorail who was one of the 20 finalists to voice Mickey Mouse for TV. This was in 2009. He did the voice and told me how he got that far, how many there were in the beginning, etc. Fun conversation.

Usually one of things that is done when closing. Making sure the ride is completely clear of guests!

SPIELING PETER! Shame he's not there anymore.

I was in WDW back in May '09, when it rained so badly, they had Jack Sparrow, Hook and Smee wandering around when there was a break in the rain, as well as Peter and Wendy. Otherwise, I don't think so :( I think it has to be a really special occasion.
