Ready to try someplace new - OKW or BCV?

Hello everyone! :) We're currently planning our WDW trip for next year, we have a total of 11 nights at the BoardWalk, 4 then 5. We're looking to try something new for one of those groups of nights. We're looking at doing the first 4 nights at Old Key West, or the last 5 nights at the Beach Club Villas. We are 4 adults (2 in their 40's, and 19/20).

Not quite sure what to do at this point, but we do have a couple months to decide before the 7 month window hits.

Thanks for any and all opinions.

You know your group best but here are my thoughts:

If you are use to BWV and the convenient location and the non-stop activity, you might be better off sticking to BCV especially for the 19/20 yo's.

If you do want to try out OKW (my favorite), do so AT THE END of your trip. IMO, it is nicer to go to a bigger room at the end of the trip than to downsize. Also, it is more relaxing towards the end of the trip after going commando the first few days. I find a few days at OKW before heading home is the best relaxing "vacation" from my Disney vacation so that I am ready to get back into the busy work life.

If the choice is only OKW at the beginning or BCV at the end, I would pick BCV because of room downsizing and because most people tend to want to go-go-go when they first get to WDW before settling down so I think the Epcot area is more suited for that, once again, especially for the younger set.

Good luck with your decision - only YOU can make it - no matter waht anyone advises!

I wouldn't pack up everyone and schlep belongings just to move across Crescent Lake. Much as I love BCV, I'd recommend OKW--if you really need to move at all. And I'd follow the previous poster's advice to start at BWV for action and proximity to the parks, and then spread out at OKW and also enjoy DD and central Florida.

Well I can't speak for BCV as I haven't been there, but we went for our first trip to OKW last month (first week in May) and have already rented points to go back next May- we loved it that much! It was peaceful and the staff was great! Granted, we have not stayed anywhere else, but to be honest we have no nagging desire to- OKW was the perfect setting for my husband who prefers a little escape from all the hustle and bustle. The pool area's were not as fun as some of the other DVC's as far as young children are concerned (from what I've heard and seen in pics, again I've never actually seen them IRL), but they were very nice and relaxing and we all had a great time regardless. I really have to say again that the staff was great there, so friendly and willing to help! So if you are looking for a bit more relaxation, this is the place!

ETA- Just reread your post and noticed you included your ages, so nevermind the small children comment. :sunny:
