Ready to print....just one problem!

I have all of my designs picked out that I want to use for our shirts. (Thanks to all the wonderful designers here!) But, now looking at the designs I am confused about to to print them and cut them out. Many of the designs I choose aren't in a box. And many have words at the bottom, so how do I go about doing this? I am using transfers from Amymickey. Unfortunately there is no way around not cutting around every letter if you are using Amy's transfers. They are a dark transfer and any white that you do not want on the design will need to be cut out. The only way around this is by using a light transfer. This would make everything that is white, clear. Therefor not as much cutting. But if you have white in your design, it would be clear also. Showing your T-shirt color. Also, with a dark transfer there is no need to mirror the image like you would have to do with light transfers.

It also depends on what color shirt you are putting them on - if they are colored shirts, then Keith is exactly right. Whatever you do not trim WILL be white - using my transfers.

On white shirts, it is not as necessary to cut as closely. Here are some shirts from our trip that were on white shirts. The round one in the front, I should have trimmed a little more closely (for my own taste) but notice how the Sugar Daddy one is cut out. The white of the transfer blends in with the shirt very well.

Here are some that I did on a colored shirt and I simply just cut "loosely" around the design. I was very happy with how they turned out and did not have to cut ALL the white out.

It is possible to put a box around a design to help cutting in out easier. There are instructions made by Dolly (I think it's on page 5 or 6 now) to put a border box using MS Word. I recently did this before I printed by designs on Amy's tansfers (which are fabulous!)and it made cutting so much easier. It did take me a while to figure out the MS Word thing, but once I got the hang of it, it was actually fun. Good luck!

Great idea. Your right. It would make it a ton easier to cut out. If you have the program to do it with.

Thanks all for the help. Amy your shirts look fabulous and I can't wait to start on my shirts using the transfers. The colors look so vibrant!
I am usinf mostly colored shirts, so I will just trim as close as I can. I am going to try to but borders around the really hard ones, just to save myself some time
