With all the new regulations I'm wondering if it's ok to bring those 8 oz bottles of ready to feed on the plane. Has anyone ever had any issue with this?

Yes, formula is one exception to the "3oz liquids only" rule. I believe the rule is stated that "reasonable" amounts of formula are allowed, but reasonable is not strictly defined. Somewhere I believe I saw that reasonable means enough for 24 or 48 hours. You have to hand the formula to the TSA agents for inspection separately from your bag and your other 3oz liquids.

Before you fly with it and give it to your baby, just make sure you try it out on your little one first. DS normally drinks the Similac Organic powder, but when I tried the ready to feed Similac Organic, he projectile vomited it. Good times! I called similac and they said he must be sensitive to the additional ingredients for the ready feed. So, you may want to try it at home before you get on the plane, if you haven't already!:)

The easiest (and cheapest) thing for us was to buy one of those sectioned formula cups. I premeasured out the formula powder ahead of time, then I just bought a bottle of water when I got through security to mix it when needed.

Having to separate and hand things to the TSA agents and create more of a hassle to get through security was just not my cup of tea. We had enough to deal with all the baby gear and the stroller, etc.....plus we didn't want to switch up what DS was used to.

We just came back and carried on about 6 of the 8 oz bottles with the intension of buying more when we got there. We just notified the TSA agent we had the bottles in the bottom of the diaper bag. No issues. at BOS or MCO.

We did encounter an issue on our last trip when she was 4 mos and on the special hypoallergenic formula. We had a case of the 4 oz glass nursettes. with more packed in our luggage. No problems going down but on the way back we had a problem with a TSA saying it was excessive. I stood my ground that it was all she could eat...if we delayed, cancelled, left on the runway for hours on end..we would need more than the 3 bottles he proposed allowing.

Bottom line is it should be an exception and you shouldn't have a problem but be prepared. We didn't do powdered because some brands of bottled water has flouride added and infants aren't supposed to have flouride.

I've brought ready to feed nursette bottles on flights with no problems. DS was having 5 bottles/day at the time, so I brought 4 RTF bottles, plus a couple of empty bottles and a small can of powdered formula, just in case. You just have to give it to the TSA employee when going through security.
