I am ready to put down a deposit on a cruise, but had a few questions. We have cruised before, but booked directly through Disney. Is there any advantage to booking directly through DCL versus a travel agent? We were considering booking through Dreams Unlimited. We have prices from several agencies, but I am a bit nervous about going outside DCL. Any suggestions would be appreciated. THANKS! It seems that some of the agencies have the same prices as DCL, but others have discounted (some quite a bit). How can some do this, but not others?

You'll usually save $ by going through a travel agent. Some agents are less than others b/c they give up some of their commission in order to get you a discount.

We had no regrets going through DCL directly. I would do DCL direct in a heartbeat.

Our original reservation was for a cat 10. At one point during our wait, I was DIS'ing. Someone had posted a link on available rooms on DCL cruises. So I went to that website and was nosing around. Lo and behold...a SPH was then available. By having my own reservation direct with DCL, I was able to call them directly on a Saturday night and switch my room. YOU CANNOT DO THAT IF YOU GO THROUGH A TA. Any changes made to your reservation have to go through the TA. Some are very good and timely, other TA's ignore you after you've made the reservation.

I have booked my own stuff with Disney since 1966 and this year I tried Dreams Unlimited. Besides saving some money I can still talk directly to Disney as well as my contact at Dreams Unlimited.

I would highly recommend them. They also have a wealth of knowledge that they can help you with.

Another vote for Dreams Unlimited...They have been amazing so far, have responded, and quickly to boot, to all of my e-mails...I have nothing negative to say....

HTH :goodvibes

I also recommend Dreams. I just put a deposit down for a cruise next year and not only were the prices great I got the rebate also. Try looking there and check out some of their "special" rates they have going on certain cruises for 05/06.
