All that cruise planning! All those hours researching online! Sometimes life's little surprises show up unexpectedly...next thing you know...you're expecting!
Here is DH and I on our first vacation together. We went to Disney! Here we are visiting Boardwalk Inn.
My Husband and I got married two and a half months ago.It was the happiest day of our lives! I started Radiography school two weeks before the wedding and I was SO BUSY trying to get all the final details finished. We couldn't wait for the wedding day so we could enjoy it and have fun! Which we did!
After the wedding I still had 6 weeks of classes. We had decided a while back that we would take our honeymoon in January during Christmas break. I booked us an 8 night Southern Caribbean cruise for January 5th January 14th. I spent hours on a message board similar to this one absorbing everything I could about cruising. I made a travel binder detailing our entire trip day by day. I had menus, shore excursions, tips, activities. We were so excited to be leaving the bitter Michigan winter for a tropical tour of the Caribbean!
Fast forward to August 21st. We went up to see my in-laws and on the way home we decided to buy a home pregnancy test, because I was a few days late. My cycles aren't consistent anyway, but I just had this feeling...
When we got home I took the test. Now the wait. My husband turned my back to the tester and held me in a bear hug so I couldn't turn around and see it. But he could!
Let me look at it! I said.
I think it's positive. he said.
What? I said in a yeah-right-tone.
Sure enough it was positive! We were both in shock. Then we started laughing and hugged and kissed each other. It's not the perfect time for us to have a baby, but God knows what's best and we are thrilled about it!
To make a long story short (too late) we had to cancel our cruise last night. Their pregnancy policy states that you must be 24 weeks or less by debarkation date to be allowed to cruise. I would be 26 weeks. So now we have plane tickets to Florida but no cruise. Which got me thinking...January in Florida is kind of cold...it's not really beach weather. What can we do in FL that doesn't involve the beach? Think, think, think.
Just kidding!
Of course I thought of Disney! My husband on the other hand came up with Las Vegas! Me pregnant in Las Vegas! Think about that for a second honey. He agreed with me soon after. I'm so lucky to have a husband who enables my Disney obsession!
Now I need help planning! We leave in 4 months!
