Reading, seeing and hearing Part 3

Okay so I needed sme yellow after being so saddened by the tragic loss of Steve Irwin, so looked at the 1000+ pix from this last Dizzie trippie.

And thus without further ado, here is everybody's pal, Pluto, during his week at the Contemporary with his host Master, Mistress and kids. This is just a sampling of his time with us during our week, and I hope it gives a window into a bit of everyone's favorite spot on the planet, well almost everyone's..... ;)
aaapix.jpg

Pluto, in the lobby of the Contemporary at check-in. We were all so happy to see the little fellow who was waiting for us at the desk.

aaaplutoroom.jpg

Here he is in our gorgeous slick renovated room overlooking the lagoon. Can you whisper free upgrade?

aaaplutosplash.jpg

He was most eager to join Schuyler and me on Splash. Okay, he got just a little wet.....

aaaplutomaelstrom.jpg

Pluto was very eager to head to his roots. Heia! Goddag!

aaaplutotrolls.jpg

Pluto was drawn to these ugly creatures. Do people actually buy these?

aaaplutochina.jpg

Pluto is worldly and loved the showcase. He was such a ham in China. "Take a picture of me! Take a picture of me!", he kept remarking!

aaaplutocarson.jpg

Naturally we wanted to get a few of the children with him. Carson adored him and looked out for him nearly everywhere we went, when he wasn't shoving Dizzie treats in his mouth.

aaaplutoakershus.jpg

He loved the Scandanvian fare at Akershus and loved the princesses. Here he is with the menu, which he asked for and was able to bring one home. Good thing he likes seafood at this place.....

aaaplutokid.jpg

The kids vied for Pluto's affections. Jack scored him during the line and ride at POC.

aaaplutokis.jpg

Mama scored him on the monorail whilst stealing a kiss from the boy.

aaaplutomk.jpg

Schuyler held him in Tomorrowland whilst mugging with big brother, Carson.

aaaplutoee.jpg

He rode EE, but his vanity caused him to pose in front of the screamers....careening down the 80 ft. drop. heh heh heh, Ashclan.

aaaplutomgmhoodie.jpg

DJ thought he would make an awesome hood ornament. 10 points to the first person who correctly identifies this park and location.....

aaaplutospectrol.jpg

Horsey loves Spectro despite those freakish Spectromen. Pluto looked so handsome in the glow of the castle lights, and didn't mind waiting for the parade to come, given all the photo ops.

aaaplutoltt.jpg

Pluto felt drawn to the convenience of dining right smack dab in the middle of MK. He also really wanted to sup with Big Pluto.

aaafeetak.jpg

Pluto liked a it of down time, as he rests here at his hostmistresses feet by the fire at AK Lodge. Fire in August? Well, it was 8 pm, and you know how chilly the Savannah gets after dark....okay, the AC was cold in the lobby.

aaaplutoohana.jpg

He ate alot, taking advantage of free dining, and loved Ohana's. He is a carnivore of course.....which I accept.

aaaplutomeetspluto.jpg

He just had to get in the picture with Schuyler at Epcot. Little pixie hog....

aaaplutostroller.jpg

He enjoyed riding in the stroller with Jack and the other kids. He also kept Jackson company during all the babyswaps...

aaadke.jpg

Here he is on the Magical Express bus, which seemed no where near as magical on the ride back to the airport.

aaadrinkiepoo.jpg

And finally, coping with the advent of reality on the flight home.......

I will have a short story to add to the pluto journal. I mentioned to Chris that I thought it would be great for us each to use his screen name and do our own intstallments. I would love to incorporate a blend of everyone's time with him using their own words....just a thought.

Many more photos will be displayed of Pluto and the Horsey gang in the next trippie. He is departing the farm this week, weather permitting, on his way to Chez Sheridac.

Enjoy this doggone pictoral to end your long weekend....

ACK! Horsegirl! I read your make a million bucks by overbooking and then giving up seats trippie this am and fell in love with the kidcakes and now this! Here are recent pics. Oh my! Look at how they have aged!!!! I think my hair just went gray (again).... Missing teeth! Growing up! It really does happen this fast.....

I am spending Labor day (I think the U costs extra here in the US) supposedly decluttering. But here I am.
I did collect all the bottles and baby bibs to pack up for the neverland of our attic because The Last Baby is now The Last Toddler.....

but now that I see this little picture tutorial how fast kids grow up I just want to :sad1:

Kimmie...Love the tags...
Are you making some for others? If requested?
I am a scrapper too... I love buying the stuff. I haven't made pages ina long long time.
I think next summer is going to be a real revelation for me, hopefully no school, no wedding to plan, I hope to get crafty again.
I wanted to get a scrapbook going between everyone but we don't seem to have scrappers or interest.
I don't even have any scarves done to donate to Andy's school. Which is a shame I usually have at least 25 to send to school with him. To help keep kids warm, for those who don't have stuff like that.

I saw the Steve Irwin thing. I was shocked. Too bad.

Awww Twinkiemama! I know! :confused3 There are benefits though, that is how I look at it....Now we are able to almost sleep until 7 am, it was 5 am every morning for years and years..... ;)

Now all those organizer gurus would tell ya' to put those things into a pile for yardsale, donation or garbage! Glad to know I am not the only hoarder of stuff! :rotfl2:

Horsey, fabulous pics! Looks like you had a blast with Plutopants.
Hope you feel more yellow now.

Thanks, Marita. A little better, but it is just devestating that a vibrant man such as he could just vanish from his sweet young family and the world in a moment....what a waste of such an incredible talent. It is a loss on so very many levels.

But I have to say, looking at the Disney pics helped bring on the yellow a bit.....Are you signed up for him? I mean, a behind the scenes look would be an interesting perspective.

That would be ... Oscar's garage at MGM. The secret entrance for the guests of Fantasmic Dinner Package!!

Right??

PONGO -- I would LOVE to make a tag for you. If requested. ;) PM me what background color you'd like. (some people are coordinating with whatever bag they intend on carrying...)

Conor's fever is up to 102.5. He's resting comfortably, though, so I'm trying to let the feeve do its job rather than knocking it down with ibu. I noticed a few tiny little pimply things on his cheek, though, which could mean strep. (I guess? A friend's daughter had this as the ONLY symptom of strep other than just feeling under the weather).

Ding, Ding, Ding! Good show Kimbo!

Gosh, poor Conor! I just looked back and missed your post earlier today. What a carppy way to end the weekend.....do you still have the gloomy weather that kaiboshed our weekend plans?

One of our friends' boy came down with a high fever on thursday, and still had a 99 temp last night. Hope Conor recovers quickly.

Haley, your scrap book pixies were bee you tea full! Honestly! I am so not a scrapbooker. Not a domestic diva in any way, and don't get me going about sewing!

No Horsey, I am not signed up for him, since I am not going to an actual vacation at Disney. And where would I take pics? The sewage plant? The money counting room? The tree farm? The Utility plant? Costuming? Cafeterias? Utilidoors? The big office building with gray cubicles as far as eye can see? The dumpsters? The Treefarm? The Christmas warehouse? The monorail roundhouse?

I see it as Pluto at Disney, not neccesarily vacation, and he has even graced pix in the homes of some dissers. So consider it....And where would you take him? yes. yes. yes. yes. yes. yes. yes. yes. yes. yes. yes and yes.

Do you guys know about the Yeti Game ? I just found it this monring.

It's a downloadable game and when you complete all thre parts you are the the proud owner of a voucher to get a free Photo on EE
The only catch is that you have to use the voucher by 9/30/06.

Happy Labor day all.

I actually have one of said certificates. And am passing it on to someone who can use it. :teeth:

We went shopping today, the teensiest bit. B bought new tennies for the trip. I reminded him to actually break them in ahead of time. We'll see. Kids and I are heading out for gym in @ 45 minutes. Can't believe the gym is having classes on labor day. Wild.

See you later peeps!

Horsey, I'm sure that would all be interesting for you, but I do think that would be frowned upon, and some areas are restricted access, as you can imagine, and not all that magical....

Walt and Michael Eisner hated showing anything behind the scenes revealed, not sure how the behind the scenes tours survived, other that the money people one that round (charging a fortune...)

A few months ago I had to do a cross-u shift (read, pulling office people to help in the parks, where they go and botch things up during busy periods).
I had to do one in the money counting room. HEAVY security, as you can imagine. Some operation, neverending boxes filled with plastic-cash filled bags, that we had to cut open and and separate loose coin from rolled coin from bills, from where they were further processed. 8 hours of cash separating, ughhhhh, standing up too.
We had to wear blue smocks without pockets, which annoyed me (the pocketless part), until it occurred to me sometime later, after I got yelled at for bringing my purse back in the room after a break, NO POCKETS TO STUFF MONEY IN, DUH!!! (and security cameras all over, of course).

Luckily, they are upgrading the whole operation to some fancy ATM kind of machines all over property, so that job should no longer be on my rotation list.

So, that was a bit of insight

Yes!! I did it a while back and have the coupon sitting in my trip folder. HOPEfully I will make it over to use it on arrival day of 9/30. And if I do, I'll have some friends to share the photo with! :goodvibes

And, Horsey -- weather here is lovely, to me. Brisk fallness to it, with sunshine. Love it. I don't heart heat. Yesterday was pooey.

Marita~ WOW! Thanks for that insight. I am the customer service mgr. for "America's Department Store" and see my fair share of money on a daily basis(anywhere from $60-200G's and we can have as many pockets as we like.....as long as they stay EMPTY!) However I can only imagine how much goes through the Disney property on a daily basis. :earseek: I think this would be my dream job there. Well, my dream job would be Hammock Tester. So that would be the job I would be best qualified for.) A few years ago DH and I had a PS (what they were called then) at CP in the MK and while we were waiting to be let in I spied a Brinks truck rounding the corner by the Confectionary. Talk about 2 worlds colliding! But it didn't spoil the magic in the least...just made me more curious-er!!!!!!

Shelby, please tell me you did not mean the separating cash standing for 8 hours would be your dream job? (Besides hammock tester of course)

Tinkles...I'm sorry I didn't have this any sooner for you as I'm sure you could've used it. Well at least you have it for next time...if there IS a next time...

Last edited by Backstage_Gal : Today at 05:43 PM. Reason: I can recommend you for a money separating job, $8/hour, benefits and free admission to parks (limited basis)

No I SIT!!!! and I'm FAST...can do over 100 registers (checks, cash & store credit) in just under 2 hours... I think I count money in my sleep! However my job consists of not only counting it but also making sure the store balances on a daily basis...not an easy task some days.
If we ever decide to move to Orlando I just may take you up on that! The free admission sounds like a nice perk... While REALLY it is NOT my dream job...I think I could do it very well, at least on the days I'm not testing those hammocks. ;)

Last edited by Shelby5514 : Today at 06:00 PM. Reason: Keep me in mind if you see a Hammock Tester position come open...preferrably at CBR or YC/BC or GF...and I work for drinks!

I'll check the JOBS listing for you and let you know ASAP!
