I recently started reading editoreric.com's 1000 books you should read in your lifetime. I'm reading a lot of different things I wouldn't have normally picked up and read on my own. I'm only 10% through the list (anything I read prior to 5 years ago I told myself I would have to read again), but already there's been some wonderful stuff. Some of my favorites so far:

Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen
Tobacco Road - Erskine Caldwell (the epitome of 'trailer trash')
Cousin Bette - Honore de Balzac
Silas Marner - George Eliot
Of Human Bondage - Somerset Maugham
Winnie-the-Pooh - A. A. Milne
Lolita - Vladmir Nabokov
Cry, the Beloved Country - Alan Paton (struggles of South Africa)
Ethan Frome - Edith Wharton
Misery - Stephen King
Goblin Market (poem) - Christina Rosetti

There are just so many good things to read out there! I wish I had more time!

Misery - Stephen King <---- I can't read him. Did once. Never again.

Sounds like a good reading list.

I got my plane tickets for the meet today :cool1:

Who is going to MNSSHP and when? I am torn, we arrive on the 29th at 4:40. I don't know if we should try to go that night or on the 2nd after the meet.
Any thoughts or opinions?

Hey, you have a blog... cool...

Thanks, I needed a place to dump random thoughts and cause close friends and families (as well as church members) to consider my committal. :artist:

Markymark and I have already connected. There are some weird coinky dinks between he and me... him and I... us and we. Some people believe it's a Methodist thing.

I think there are some going on the 29th, and a bunch of us on the 5th.

I would actually go the night of the meet if those were the only two choices. The best time for rides was between 4-7pm and if you don't make it into the park before 6 I think you have to wait outside. But really we had so much fun before 7, there is no way I would give that up.
