HEEEELLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOO Everyone! (Consider yourselves acknowledged people!)

I have so missed everyone. I am not (yet) on vacation, but was very busy last week, then had company for the weekend. Then the husband came down with a stomach bug last night. I'm praying for a miracle (namely, that he didn't pass said bug on to me.) We're still waiting to see if the miracle pill works. (Name that movie.) I have swimming lessons four days this week, court on Tuesday, mini-meet on Wednesday, and leave for the beach Saturday morning. I'm swamped.

So, from the last several pages, which is all I have reviewed:

LaLa - so glad you're not GONE gone, but only sort of gone, for a while. Not that I'm happy that you're gone, rather, I'm happy that you're still sort of here, and only partly gone. I'm stopping now. The edge of the hole is over my head.

Chappie - buddy, hope the appliances stop revolting. Just give in to their demands now. It's less expensive that way. And far less aggravating.

Horsey - I am about to go read your lake report, which I subscribed to, but have not yet had time to read. I am (I think) looking forward to some beautiful pictures, and a story that needs to be submitted to Maine's major tourist magazine, whatever that is. I can't wait!

PP - Glad you and hooP are feeling better. Note to self: avoid Mexico.

Sher - those vineyard pics were very nice. (And, btw, my husband ordered me a Canon Rebel XT, just because, and I made him cancel the order saying that it was too expensive. I don't know what he is feeling guilty about, and now I feel guilty about making him feel guilty about cancelling the order.)

Hi all. Been quite a week, let me tell you. The waters from the Great Flood have more or less receded, but we still have drying equipment in the house. Apparently, moisture got trapped between the hardwoods on the first floor and the subfloor, so they have set up this incredibly complex giant sucking contraption with all sorts of hoses and stuff to get the water out. Makes quite a racket. Not quite as loud as the racket our dishwasher made, however, as it gave up the ghost on Wednesday, after 14 years of hard work. We appreciate its years of service, and gave it a nice little pat on its way to the scrap heap (new dishwasher arrives today). Then, apparently, the garbage disposal was feeling a little piqued at missing out on all the attention, and began to cry (well, leak actually, because what we really needed in our house was yet more water). New garbage disposal arrives later this week. We're keeping a close eye on the refrigerator, as it seems to be the only major appliance that hasn't pitched a hissy fit lately. Matter of time, I'm sure.

Hope you are yours are safe and dry. Me and mine -- not so much, but we're getting there.

Ok, as the law by that guy, you know...mr. murphy...would have it, I was reading this post just as my boss walked into the room. I was "almost in tears" kind of laughing to the point where he actually had to ask me "Are you ok?". I am shocked that that man has not totally fired my a**!!

I'm back from a funeral, and off to Vacation Bible School! But just wanted to give a shout out to AMY cause she's the only one who mentioned me in the shout outs today - cept of course for Chris who copies and pastes hers each morning. So, HEY AMY!

BLACKBERRY LIME MARGARITAS

2 cups (about 11 ounces) blackberries
2 cups ice cubes
1/2 cup fresh lime juice
3/4 cup white tequila
1/4 cup sugar

Puree blackberries in a blender. Force puree through a fine sieve into a small bowl and discard solids. In a cocktail shaker, combine 1/2 cup puree and remaining ingredients and shake well. Strain drink into 4 stemmed glasses.

Serves 4.
