Did you see the christmas special where Michael surprised Paula with plane tickets to Paris? I think the food network jumped in and arranged a bigger trip they could tape for us to watch:)
And, the sons are getting their own travel show (starts soon).
Yep, I watch the food network waaaaaay too much. I do, however, believe that it makes me a much better cook!

Does anyone else have a problem watching Owen Wilson? I just can't get past his nose...and what it looks like...you know... Why has he never had it fixed?

Sher~ We can't buy alcohol on Sunday's here...but that's ok...my cabinet is stocked! DH came home with 2 bottles of wine the other day. A client gave them to him for looking at her laptop... ha-ha...get your minds out of the gutter all of you! Yea, you too! He fixed her COMPUTER!!! (She also gave him $100 cash.) Yep, I've sunken to pimping out my man now! Hey, whatever brings home the bacon and those DVC points! I say.

Gosh. Where is everyone?

Lou goes away for a little while and everyone stops hanging out here.
I see how it is.

Well I am off to make dinner. Indian food, but just simple stuff. A nice dal and some rice. Oh and I have some nice mango chutney, store bought, although I have made my own in the past. I could eat Indian food everyday. Love it.

Yes!! I totally love it!! I am bummed about the S3 having a higher ISO setting, but I am also somewhat impatient (can you believe that??? :teeth: ) and I couldn't wait!!

I am done with this week's non-photography homework.

And.............

I just recently discovered I have a mid-term in two weeks. I HAVE NOT EVEN REMOVED THE CELLOPHANE WRAPPING FROM MY BOOKS PEOPLE!!!!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

So yesterday daughter discovered ticks on the dog and then the ferrets too. EWWWWW! She called the vet and they said to sprinkle borox on the carpet and vacuum it up and spray Frontline on them. So now dog and ferrets are all bathed, sprayed, carpet is done, cage is cleaned. Hope that does the trick!

Daughter thinks he picked up the ticks at the dog groomer, of all places!

Hope you see this AFTER you had dinner ....

PS: too long for edit; So this song from the commercial has been playing over and over in my head:

Cute white puppy singing "I got no bugs on me, I got no bugs on me, I got not bugs like some of you mugs, I got no bugs on me..."

Marita do you mean fleas?

Just wonderin'

By the way...we have a bird in the basement. Not quite sure what to do about it...
But it's freakin the dog out cause we can hear it up here through the vents.

Come out, come out, wherever you are!!!!!!!!!

No, Pongo, ticks, bloodsuckers, but bigger than fleas and they don't hop around.

Can't offer help on bird situation, maybe call local animal control?

Okay, so today was fun and gross. Spent the day at the Y and I now have tan lines! I haven'y had tan lines in 2 years!

Got my hair cut and colored yesterday. Back to the natural brunette for now,

We have Tomoato worms in our peppers and tomatoes. Well. Not anymore. Took care of that. Got 10 of them today. Here is your info on them:

The Tomato Hornworms

By Judy Sedbrook, Colorado Master GardenerSM, Colorado State University Cooperative Extension, Denver County

Tomato/tobacco hornworms are the largest caterpillars found in this area and can measure up to 4 inches in length. The prominent "horn" on the rear of both gives them their name.

The size of these garden pests allow them to quickly defoliate tomatoes, potatoes, eggplants, and peppers. Occasionally, they may also feed on green fruit. Gardeners are likely to spot the large areas of damage at the top of a plant before they see the culprit. Hornworms are often difficult to see because of their protective coloring. Not much for the heat of direct sunlight, they tend to feed on the interior of the plant during the day and are more easily spotted when they move to the outside of the plant at dawn and dusk

The tobacco hornworm larva (Manduca sexta) is generally green with seven diagonal white lines on the sides and a curved red horn (above). The tomato hornworms (Manduca quinquemaculata) have eight V-shaped marks on each side and their horn is straighter and blue-black in color (below). These "hornworms" are the larvae of hawk or sphinx moths, also known as hummingbird moths. The tobacco hornworm is the most commonly seen of the two, but both can be found in this region and may even be present on the same plant.

The presence of the hornworm may also be noticed because of the large, black droppings (frass) that accumulate on the ground beneath the affected plants.

Hornworm damage usually begins to occur in midsummer and continues throughout the remainder of the growing season.

CONTROL:

Handpicking. The large size of hornworms makes it easy to get hold of them. Once removed from the plant, they can be destroyed by snipping them in half with shears or dropping them into a bucket of water.
Rototilling. Turning up the soil after harvest will destroy any pupae that may be there.
Biological. Bacillus thuringensis, or BT (e.g., Dipel, Thuricide), is also considered very effective, especially on smaller larvae. Spray it as a precaution. Natural enemies, such as the parasitic wasp that lays its eggs on the hornworm's back, are common. If found, such worms should be left in the garden so the emerging wasps can parasitize other hornworms.

Insecticides. Hornworms can be controlled with carbaryl, permethrin, spinosad insecticides. Read the label carefully before using any insecticide
