I like your way of thinking.

Wendy!!!!!

You came!! (over, lol) :teeth:

Ready for the ride???

edited to add: Of course you like my way of thinking.

1) because we are twins
b) because I am the brains of the operation

:teeth:

Morning all. :sunny: Hope everyone has a safe and merry holiday weekend. And one last thing -- please stop feeding the troll on that other thread. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, no matter how misguided you or I may view them. What disturbs me is how quick people were to level personal attacks against the OP (not you good folks, but others). Tink's right -- if you don't like the report, just ignore it. Okay, I'm stepping off my soapbox for the day. Pass the Krispy Kreme donut cake -- I could use a slice. :thumbsup2

This is Stitch, aka Jackson. After a solid scolding from mother. Why? His hair is not parted and over to the side. His bangs are gone, completely, as in snip snip. This is the third time, and all his beautiful shiny hair had just grown out from the last self cut. Notice the shame and guilt on his face? My tongue did some lashing, let me tell ya'. I was so looking forward to his long locks getting that beautiful blond shade in the summer sun, not that we have had any....

I took him to get a buzz cut yesterday. He was thrilled and looked in the mirror afterwards and said, I kid you not,

"Oh, yippee! Now I look like Mr. Tickles!"

For anyone who missed my clown desensitization post. Here is Mr. T, Jack's new idol. Stitch should get along just fine with Lou....

Jack, in happier times, complete with a full head of beautiful long hair, and with said clown.

Hey Hucifer! Nice to see you here. I have not yet posted on your report, but love your writing. You are funnnnnnny.

Gerribon! Nice to see you again.

Horsey, thanks for the alphabits this morning. That gave me what I needed!! Packing.....you're on a compound with no one else around, right? So who cares??? It's all about the food. And maybe the liquor (or are you going to listen to your sadist of a trainer even on vacation??). Just don't forget your size 4 string bikini (speaking of trainers....).

I am NOT working today Sher. :woohoo: I've decided that this was a very good decision :teeth:

Chappie, you are a good man, and ITA. And I actually found SOME of the OP's observations entertaining, and didn't hate the format...for a quick read. I KNEW the scooter thing was going to set people off, though! Sounded a little like that was the purpose of them......

Pongo, I'm thinking of you today. Jami, hope your food coma is subsiding. You need to make room for the Palm!

Going to finish my book.............. :cloud9:

Good morning, you pack of Vikings!

Hi Hucifer! :wave2: Welcome! Good to see you over here! You belong. Here. Because you're inspiring people (ok, me) to lie about being vegetarians in order to get the huge beautiful plate at Boma. Do you think I should pick up some name badges, too? And you're funny. And pretty. Sid likes that. Oh wait, she likes nice and pretty. I think you're that, too.

What's everyone got planned for the holiday weekend?
Hey Kimmie. Thanks for the warm welcome. And you won't regret lying about your flesh-eating tendencies. The big monster plate at Boma's is some gooooooooooooooooooooooooooood eatin'. Did I mention that the deep fried Oreos are decent?

Hey Sheri...it does not surprise me that, considering your Brain Status, that you would come up with such a brilliant idea. Mom always did love you best.

And yes, I came. Over.

Last edited by hucifer : Today at 09:42 AM. Reason: Uhh...government computers are down at work...seriously. You believe me, don't you?

No, I don't. I think it's just you. :teeth:

Ok so I know that not everyone reads everything I post but I would really like all of you to read this and remember what this weekend is for (I'll post it in it's entirity (sp?).

The Star Spangled Banner

Oh, say can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, now conceals, now discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines on the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner! O long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has wiped out their foul footstep's pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved homes and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heaven-rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Then, just for a little levity and because Grammy asked for her own

Morning again, all!

Hucifer - Welcome to our thread! Take off your coat and stay awhile. Or forever. Cuz we're kinda like the Tower of Terror that way. (Or Hotel California, if you're like Lil Grumpy) Once you check in, well....you know the rest.

My coworker is not here AGAIN today. She knew I was supposed to leave early today, too. :furious:

I'm going to read Hucifer's trippie now. And NOT work. So there.

Chappie said I was right! Woohooty!

Nay, Chap. We Maelstromers are here to spread cheer and goodwill among all. Definitely not to pick fights. And to encourage others to do the same. In our herd (pack? flock? pride?) of Vikings way.

What IS a whole buncha Vikings called, anyway?

Hi Guys. I am back.

Six Flags still has the lovely aroma of vomit warmed by the sun. Other than that it was a pretty good trip. The park was almost empty, most of the rides were walk ons.

Spent 6 hours in the water park area doing water park stuff. Then got caught in horrible traffic on the way home. So I am DED today.

I have not read back yet. Seems I missed some fun.
So I will have to go look :teeth:

But first I need to pick up the house some because my cleaning lady comes today and there is too much mess. Also I clearly need more coffee. Lots more.

Thanks for asking about me Grammy :)

And thanks for the riddle link again. Mr Silly reads them with me and I almost always beat him to the answer. :smokin:

I think we are called a clique of vikings ;)

Read the thread. Did not reply. Those that have already made the points I would have (well said Grammy, that was what bothered me the most).

To each his own, but why throw stones?

Which reminds me, I have another long winded post almost ready for my trippie, I need to polish it (spell check) and maybe add a bit more to it.

Funny! So, I was a viking before I even knew you guys!! Aaaaaaaaaa-a!

we are not animals. not that there is anything wrong with that...

We're not? I thought we kinda were. At least SOME of us............

Thanks for the welcome, AshClan, Yzma and Kronk, and tink38. Ash, I'm glad you're enjoying the report!

And Sheri...just so you know...the network was down but...AHEM...the Internet was magically working. :wizard: So there! It's like we were getting paid to post on the DISboards. Sigh. It doesn't get much better than that.

Borg baby!!!

That mysteriously happens for me too!!! :teeth:

Hey yall.

I just got back from a day with the boy at his summer school camp. And unlike some other summer programs for school, the one he is in is strictly reserved for the smart kids. Just ask him. He'll tell you. Those exact words.

Anyway, the school the camp was being held at is my old elementary school. I haven't been there since I was a little girl. It was strange. Since when did it shrink to half the size I remember it being? As I walked up, I remembered specific conversations with my little friends that I had there.

You know. The important stuff.

Like who was gonna be allowed into our awesomely cool club, The Hot Girls. Or the debate we had once about if you pretended to smoke one of those candy cigarettes, did that make you bad? Or just cool? Our grade actually staged a strike once because they took away our recess. Yeah, that didn't last long and the instigators were properly humiliated and reprimanded.

Anyway, it was weird. The memories it brought back.

Horsey: We're gonna miss ya around here while you're gone. Too many Maelstromers are missing. That picture was too funny. Tinkles, huh? Now all you need to do is slap some white face paint on him and find a red nose and there you have it. Instant Phobia To Go.

Chappie: ITA. Well said.

Hucifer: Glad you found your way here. Your trip report is really funny. Stick around. We like funny over here. And tell Gelman I said hello.
