So, my boss is on vacation this week. I hatched this plan, that during a lull in budget season I to take my car in for maintenance, since I am about 7,000 miles over for both maintenance and oil change. ( I am salaried, so not like im losing pay).
So I called this morning and made an appointment for 2:30. I thought it would take 1 hour, I could have sworn I read that somewhere. The guy informs it's more like 2. Fool that I am, I said ok ( I should have changed it to 2pm). I figured I'd be home by no later than 4:30 and then work from the couch for a while after that.(Cause apparently I am brain impaired and figured he probably exagerates the time it takes)
Well, silly me, I missed my exit, on the highway I have been driving on for like 25 years(how, you ask? me too!!), which made me almost 20 mins late, that made my end time about 5pm ( already should be on my couch by then!!!, it's a psychological thing). Finally,at 5pm, the car is ready. I even said for them to forget about my free car wash, just get me out of here. So I head for the beeline (highway), and there is a detour!!!!!!! So I ended up on Orange Ave in bumper to bumper rush hour crawl. Plus I notice, my a/c is now blowing WARM air! Finally made it home at 5:40.
My son was over today, I tell him my frustrations, and he says "did you push the a/c button"? I said what a/c button? He says sometimes there is one. So I looked, there sure is but I'm to tired now to check it out, but why would they turn it off?. Hope that's it!
So my brilliant plan backfired, I got home more than an hour later than normal, and worked till after 7pm. At least I feel less afraid about driving the car, cause I had visions about the oil just being packed like gum....
At least I got to DIS at the car dealer's place. They said they have highspeed. If that is highspeed, I might as well keep my dial up.
(I actually have highspeed at home, except daughter abducted it to her room), so I am on company owned laptop that wont let me install anything.
At least my car is happy!
