Reading parent's text messages

I dont' know if this has been discussed before but I was listening to the radio this morning and they were discussing how kids are snooping on their parents. They look at their parent's phones and read their text messages that they wrote to their friends and husband, wife, etc.

hmm... remind me to delete my old texts! Has anyone ever experienced this?

Nope - my parents are long gone, way before text messaging.
However, I have to admit that I once read a letter my mother was in the process of writing to a good friend of hers. It was about me (I was a teenager at the time) and it wasn't very flattering to say the least. I never said anything to her, as I wasn't supposed to be reading it anyway, but to this day 20 yrs. later I wish had never read it. Live and learn.

Wow, i would have never thought about kids snooping on their parents. Well if my children ever snoop on us they will not find anything interesting. They may find, "What time will you be home?" and "what do you want for dinner?"
I can imagine what some children have found.

I was a snoopy teen, so I wouldn't be surprised if dd was snoopy. I don't text message though, so I don't worry about that. Anything else that I want to keep from her, I put it away securely.

I just assume they'll snoop through my stuff and lock everything.

That's my 11 year old! She reads my email, checks the home phone Caller ID and my cell Caller ID to see who I've talked to etc. It's a little irritating, but since I have nothing to hide..........

They make programs for that. I have one called Nalsoft. It's awesome.

The only person I text message is dd so she already knows what they all say. I'd rather call DH and he'd rather call as well. I hate texting--it takes me forever!

My mom only knows how to text message if I help her. And I don't think my parents (or anybody's parents) are text-messaging anything that interesting. I don't get it.

Heck no, leave it on there! One read of a racy message from dad to mom will gross those kids out enough that they'll never snoop again!
