Readers are leaders!

We read to our kids every night (okay most nights). DD7 loves to read and most of the books we read, she has already read herself. But she will sometimes ask me what a specific word means or what a phrase means.

Our worry now is not getting books to content-advanced for her. Any suggestions would be appreciated. She has read all of Magic Tree House, Time Spies, Droon, Disney Fairies, Fairy Realm, many other fairy series Nancy Drew Notebook, Nancy Drew Clue Crew, most of ABC Mysteries and some Animal Ark (not as interested).

I'm the worst parent on the board.

Or the most honest.

I never read to my kids. They are 9 and 11 and are very capable of reading on their own.

We have always had tons of books in the house and if ever one brought a book to me, I would always read it. I has been many years since that has happened.

My oldest HATES to read and is in the top 5 in her school grade wise.

My youngest loves to read and reads at a grade level above her grade. She stinks at math so that is where I put my focus.

I love to read but I read technical books.

Did you read to the kids before they could read on their own?
