Ok a follow-up. Daughter reports huge lines at GET and is concerned that no groups have boarded yet. But they aren't near ROTR to find out more. Her BG13 still shows in her app.
if she can snap a pic of the GET lines, that would be helpful

I have never posted here before, have been watching this forum for a long time, but today's events are prompting me to speak up. May I please suggest that either we agree as a community to STOP PRACTICING FROM HOME???? Or at the very least, agree to choose just one day each week to practice? Having hundreds of people on the app from home is what has turned the boarding group process into a lottery. The system wasn't designed to handle traffic outside the parks. It's only going to get more and more overloaded as we head into spring break. Can we be kind to those in the park and come to some sort of agreement to limit practicing or just stop altogether?
But the issue was never server lag it was the amount of people wanting to ride and limited amount of space. People who were practicing never got a bg untill today.. no one could have forseen this. Disney needs to call boarding groups and watch the line than reopen boarding group or standby once they finished.

Hi,

I’m new to the forum and i will be going to Disneyworld Orlando mid march, as i will only be spending a day in Disneyworld, i want to be sure to ride RoTR.

So far i have read a lot of things as how to book a BG and even did a test on the app.

My questions are:
- i will be buying my ticket soon and i will choose the e ticket, so i will need to change it for a real ticket in the park.
Can it be done the day before? Or if i arrive 1 hour before park time, will the specific desk be already opened?

- is there a y trick on how to enter in HS quickly? Any specific entrance?
Any location once inside where the bandwidth would be better?

Any specific tips that are not in the 1st post?

Thanks all

I understand your concern but as most have said the server traffic from people practicing from home is mute and has very little effect. Today is a different beast, today people have directly affected people in the park by no intentional wrong doing. THEY SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO SECURE A BG. This is on Disney and this is a disaster

Tomorrow is our first ROTR attempt should I be doing something different now after todays fiasco? What’s the cast members saying today?

It isn’t as if anyone wanted this to happen. And today was unprecedented. It is up to Disney to fix the app. I would expect Disney to fix it by tomorrow. But until we have confirmation that it is fixed, I would suggest people stop practicing if their trip is not in the next few days.

unless they put some sort of lock earlier in the process, you'll never get everyone to stop. It's not like posters here are the only people in the entire world doing this

Myself and family have been practicing because we've got one shot to get it right in a few weeks. We just wanted to see how each phone reacted to the app and loading screen. I am sure there are hundreds if not thousands of people doing the same. This isn't the only forum talking about this. But nevertheless I do feel very bad I might have messed up someone's chance at the park.

I'm sure they're working on a block, but trying to focus on the guest experience in the park first. We could make their lives a little easier, and be better. If you found an ATM that was dispensing $100s when you asked for $20, would you just keep taking money and say 'It's their fault, the ATM glitches'?

I tried from home this morning and did NOT get a BG. I tried yesterday and was able to click the Join button after launching the app after 8am. This morning I decided that I would see if the button lit up if I had the app launched before 8am. It didn't light up no matter what screen I tried refreshing. I see now that there are 5 pages of people practicing that got BG's from outside the park. I'm not sure if that's why it gliched out and they went SO fast today. I'll try tomorrow and let you know how it goes.

with an eticket you can get an actual card at Disney Springs until 11pm or the same morning the ticket windows open about an hour before the park so you'll have time
There's only one entrance to the park but after getting your ticket just stay to the far right, that side moves faster

I don't understand your logic here..people who got bg who didn't mean to can't give them back it's not like they can fix it. It's up to Disney to fix the day in the park.

ok everyone. lets keep this focused on bg, no need to add colorful commentary or off topic posts that just inflate the thread without any need.
This is no one fault other than Disney IT. no need to put blame anywhere else or on anyone for the sake of a joke

I completely forgot to practice from home today until after 8am. When I opened the app to try and get a boarding group they were already all gone before 8:02am. Now I know why they were all gone that early.

We will be in DHS on March 3rd and I am finished practicing from home. :) I'm glad that I forgot to do it this morning.

I wonder if they will add spots of any people who drop from the BG into the system. obviously it's not done automatically since BGs should have opened again after people dropped out of them this morning. Someone must release availability again given that they have a lot now; but im afraid that they might not have a straighforward way to do this given that they have not done that before. So it might be just the people who got in BG today that are riding.
Rough day for HS, GET, and all people in the park today.

I will only post once more, please consider not practicing from home. I won't respond to any more posts, agree or disagree, just realize that practicing from home DOES AFFECT the app. It just became more apparent today when it actually assigned BGs. Don't argue it here, go talk to an Imagineer who's working on this project. I'm sorry if I've clogged the feed, I just needed to get this out there. Back to lurking......

I wonder if the bg side of MDE recognizes when people drop a bg and then has the ability to put it back in play..........I don't think that;s the case

Today is literally the only day practicing from home has made any impact whatsoever.
