I'm starting to think they ain't opening today. I really wish they would give us some kind of explanation... I heard a guest ask a CM what was going on... The CM stayed in characters and answered that there were First Order patrol preventing them from boarding... The guy was less than thrilled by that answer...

Should be opening soon.

Coming up on 11:00 and still no groups called. I truly feel for those who experienced the elation of scoring a low boarding group only to endure the agony that has been this morning's lack of performance.

Do you think it matters where your at?

For those of us who have to rely on Disney for our wifi it makes a difference for sure! As an International visitor I do not have data in the US so I must rely on Disney's wifi while in the parks and resorts.

The one tip I was given by a CM that has been beneficial to me it to stand close to one of the 'tap' stations as that seems to be a better signal. Personally I may try making my way over towards Beauty and the Beast if I can get near one of their FP taps at park opening.

Updating on how this morning went while I wait solo in the RnR FP queue:

- 6:15 - bus from South depot of POR (it then picked up at the west, north, and east depot. Diff than the usual pattern)
-6:30 - off the bus and shuffling through security
- 6:45 - through tapstiles and in the crowd shuffling to TSL. We were able to walk pretty freely up until the theatre that shows “One Man’s Dream” where we were held until park open.

Last night I cleared some storage on my old little phone and DH also downloaded MDE so we could both try this morning. I was refreshing the “My Status” page which didn’t work at 7 am. Had to back out and hit “Join a boarding group” from the first page. We got group 34. I appreciate all the tips today and hope everyone else here gets a chance to ride!

We got BG39 and planned to be done by now, this has really thrown of our plans for the day, no real answers from CMs. On a good note was only 45 min wait for MFSR despite being way back in the RD crowd and lots of Jedi training sign up still available around 9 ( though saw walking by around 10:30 it was at alternate groups).

Alight guys. I'm planning to join the madness and be at HS this coming Friday. I'm the type of person who likes to be prepared as possible for things like this. So here is just a run down of my plan. Please feel free to comment if I should do anything differently.

1) Be at HS around 6:00.
2) We are not carrying bags.
3) Both my wife and I will have our phones out and will be ready to get a BG. One of us might be on WIFI while the other won't be.
4) At around 6:55, we will try to get away from people as much as possible.
5) I am going to try to open the app seconds before 7:00 while my wife is going to wait until right at 7:00.
6) I am going to hit the JOIN BOARDING GROUP button while my wife is going to hit the MY STATUS BUTTON.

You may not need to be AT HS by 6:00 am if you don't have bags, but that's up to you and your comfort level.
2 Saturdays ago, DH and I were at the bus stop at Kidani at 6 (one bus was just pulling away, I don't know to which park). I think we got on the next bus to HS at about 6:15-6:20, arrived at HS about 6:30-6:35 (no bags), and were at the top of Hollywood Blvd (near the big stage up front) in plenty of time to get on the app before 7, ready to pick up our BG. We got BG 19. Did not get in one of the rope drop lines heading to any of the various sections in the park, just let all the crowds go, as we weren't planning on riding MF or SDD that day.
Used a FP at RnRcoaster at 7:30ish, then hung out for a bit. On and off of RoTR by 9:15.

Not a good morning. Scanned in at 7:01, kept telling me my whole group wasn't checked in.....over and over. Finally closed completely out went back in and got back up 104 for me and my girls. Hubby got 119, he had to check bags. Thought for sure we'd be ok. But not feeling so good about it now.

10:23 and still not boarding! Has anyone managed to get any info from a cast member? We are in boarding group 40 x

I didn't bother asking, we left and are switching hotels now and headed to AK. I'm not sure we'll get up to try again tomorrow. We'll be back in May though. I'm happy to have gotten one ride during this trip.

Me too. Hoping I didn’t get my two young kids up at 5am for nothing! Worried it won’t run at al today as this is our only chance at riding.

I feel so badly for all of you who are still waiting for the ride to open. It really does throw off your schedule planning when the ride does not open by 8 am. It is so hard when opening time is a complete unknown.

I just left Hollywood Studios for a bit. Good thing I didn't plan anything to do for Saturday in case I couldn't ride today.

So happy you got a boarding group! Did you get it on your phone, or did your husband get it from home? Curious because I also have an older phone and wanted to see if it made a significant difference.

Hi everyone, we're boarding group 48 and as of 11:41am they still haven't started boarding. At what time of the day do we start to figure that even if they get the ride running, we still won't get to board? I read that they do about 10 groups per hour and the park closes at 8pm so I'm guessing that we should give up hope at around 3pm?

If we don't get to board, will they provide any kind of compensation? This is the only day we have at Hollywood Studios so we're not going to get another chance.

In the meantime we've come back to our hotel to rest (sounds like we're not the only ones). It was an early start for us and it's a chilly day.

I was going to ask the same thing. Will we be offered a fast pass for tomorrow? We don’t want to stay later than 5pm after getting here for 6!!! My kids are shattered and it is cold!

I asked a CM about what happens if we don't ride today. She asked what BG I was in and told me I can ask guest relations if anything can be done. We have 67 so in the original groups. Already been to Epcot and headed to MK now. Holding out hope we ride today!!

If I've got the correct info, you can leave the park and check the app to see when your boarding group is called? Do they still give you priority the next day if your BG isn't called before park closing?

We will be visiting the first week of Feb when the opening time is 9am. If we are arriving with bags and a stroller, would you recommend arriving earlier than 8am (1 hour early)?
This thread has been helpful in terms of planning but also incredibly nerve racking!
