I'm so bummed!

Why I looked I will never know..... Airtran is having a sale!

If I had chosen to stay at WDW one extra day it would have cost $208.56 more for our family of four- that would including tickets, value resort stay, and dining plan.

If I had chosen to stay that extra day my airfare would have been $289. CHEAPER!!!!!!!!

So I could have stayed one extra day and SAVED $80.44

Why did I book so early??? I am so mad at myself right now.... I just had to book :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache:

Aww, don't be too hard on yourself! Booking flights is just one of those things. Look on the bright side - YOU'RE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!!!!!:thumbsup2

On the other side, if you didn't book when you did, it could have gone up. With airfare, you just never know. :confused3

I never sweat the airfare. i set a range i am willing to pay for tickets. when i find a good flight in that range i book it. as for flight dates and staying an extra day..my DVC points only go so far and that pretty much dictates the dates I fly.

Bummer...

It is so like gambling when you're trying to find the best airfare. That's where I am now for our June 2008 trip. A flight that I loved for departure/arrival times has now gone up $60/pp -- not horrible, but still enough to irritate me. So now I'm waiting for it to go back down...I'm so obsessive that I check it every day in the hopes that some strange, but wonderful airfare will slip through the system!!!

I'd feel the exact same way, but try to let it go and for goodness sake, NO MORE LOOKING AT AIRFARES!!!!!!!!!!

Relax and enjoy the rest of your planning for the World!!!!!!!1:cool1:  :cheer2:

That's too bad, but I have to agree with the others, if you had waited, you may have ended up with worse tickets. I say, better to book early...

That's why I love Jetblue, if their airfare goes down, they credit you the difference.

But I really do understand your frustration. It would drive me nuts. In fact I did add a day to my trip for that very reason. I had a voucher for a free flight, but no flights were available for my day of travel....but there was one for the next day....so I added a hotel day and moved my flght, I didn't save anything, but I got an extra day for less than I would have paid in airfare.

Sure you might have saved a few bucks, but you do realize that that other flight, the one you aren't taking, is going to be the one that will be stuck on the tarmac for six hours while the pilots sober up. Always look at the bright side.

I like Tommytutone's perspective.
As a former travel agent, (all business, no DW) the airfare very well could have gone way up.
Your better off to book when the price is right for you, and not look back!

:rotfl2: Too true! Oh the hours I have spent admiring Atlanta tarmac...... I don't really grudge them their sobering up time, I just wish they would have shared with the passengers.......

OK..........

This might be a stupid question...........

Why don't you change your flight?

Then add a day to your stay?

AIRTRAN has a spot on their web site to change your itinerary.

  :thumbsup2

I agree about the airline prices. I just looked for March/April and they r ridiculous. Jetblue wants $399. With 3 kids in tow that I have to pick up in another state driving may be the route to go. if they go down considerably(not counting on it) then I will get them. Either way i am fine with it I will be with Mickey. Just would like to take the kids on their first flight.

You can never tell when you'll get a great deal. I searched just about daily looking for my airfare for December. Booked US Air in April for December-got $99 one way for non-stop from PIT to MCO, one way now up to $124-$168. Glad I booked mine when I did.

i always book as soon as i can. delta always has low rates that go sky high the closer we get to disney. booked for 106.00 last year and those same tickets a week before were 1200.00 each . i always book 330 days out for the cheapest rate . so i wouldn't be so bummed. glad to go!

The Pollyanna in me says be thankful you had the money to go at all. Think of all the other people who are missing out on all the magic.pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: Extra Pixie dust to you...May your time be extra magical.

I would think you could always change your plans with Disney...........especially adding a day......... I am a BIG Planner too. We booked our airfare the day after the rates came out for our Disney trip last October ! I booked early with Airtran last year and paid $99 on the way down and $147 on the way home.......the fares went down and I called them and asked if the credit the difference and they said sure. The only bad part (if you call it that) is that they will only issue you a credit. They will not credit your credit card and the credit is good for a year. They are also very flexible with that. My best friend did the same thing and she wasn't booking any trips for over a year. She called and they extended the credit for another 30 or 60 days (can't remember now).
But by all means call Airtran!!!! The rates actually went down twice between booking and flying and they just kept adding credits. In the end, we had a credit for over $300 that almost paid for our next trip.

Call Airtran and don't accept no for an answer. I just threw in that many of their competitors will credit you..........and they did !!

Good luck and let me know how you make out:thumbsup2 !!!!!!!!!

Have to agree with M&N. be glad you can go. Many people would kill to go and can't. If your choice was spend and extra 80 bucks or not go at all, what would you choose. Don't even upset yourself thinking about it. Enjoy your trip and have lots O fun.

It would cost $60 per person to change flight. Which would no longer make it a free day. PLEASE correct me if I"m wrong. I would love to wrong.
