Read any good books lately?

I am almost finshed with The 5th Horseman by James Patterson. His books are so quick and easy to read. I teach 4th grade so I usually read an adult novel, then a child's novel, etc. The recent child's novel was Al Capone Does My Shirts. I really enjoyed it!

Just finished "Wild Swans: 3 Daughters of China" by Jung Chang. Absolutely INCREDIBLE book! Everyone should read it! I checked it out of the library, and then loved it so much I had to go buy it so I could own it and read it whenever I want.

Another book I love is "Hope Was Here" by Joan Bauer. It is really an adolescent novel, but it is so very well written, "grown ups" would like it, too. If I were still teaching English, it is one that I would recommend!

Next up, "The Goose Girl" by Shannon Hale, and then "Crossing to Safety" by Wallace Stegner. Can't wait. I love to read!

I'm currently reading A Million Little Pieces.

I am too!!! Despite all the controversy over this book, I still find it truly fascinating. Bought it in Jan for my WDW trip in Feb. Started reading it on the plane and between the craziness of the vacation and now back to work, I have not been able to get it finished...but I will in due time! :wave2:

Just looking for something interesting fiction or non it doesn't matter! Any suggestions on any tou really liked- Yes I have read hte DaVinci Code- and loved it!

if you like books in the same genre as Da Vinci Code, my son said that the Rule of Four and the Last Templer are awesome.

I've managed to do quite a bit of reading lately - I love it and it only makes me want to read more! Some books I've read recently:
* "Outlander" by Diana Galbadon - I decided to try it based on recommendations on this board - I LOVED it! I have the next book in the series to read as soon as I finish what I'm currently reading.
* "Marley & Me" by John Grogan - kind of a "Tuesdays with Morrie" but about a man and his dog. A must-read (very easy) for dog lovers - it makes you laugh, cry and love your own dog even more!
* "The Other Boleyn Girl" by Phillipa Gregory - again based on recommendations here - again I LOVED it! It makes me want to read more by this author AND learn more about this peiod in history.
* "In Cold Blood" by Truman Capote - I never read this and thought I should (kind of a classic). Then I'll watch the movie "Capote". For some reason non-fiction takes me longer to read....This is my current book.

I also totally agree with "The Kite Runner" - probably one of the best books I've ever read - so well written. I read "A Million Little Pieces" just before the big controversy began and I thought it was fiction! It's still a great story and I have no problem with embellishing the truth to make it more interesting. If they had only presented it as "based on a true story" none of this would have happened!

I'm also trying to read a "classic" every 4 or 5 books, so I've enjoyed that thread too. Some I read in high school, but many have gotten away from me. I think I'll try "Catcher in the Rye" next.

Oh, so little time and so many books to read..... ;)

You would probably also like The Historian then. By Elizabeth K-something or other. Kind of reminded me of The DaVinci code in some ways.

I just finished the sixth book in Diane Gabaldon's Outlander Series. I want more. I am just not ready to give up this series. There is a cliffhanger, so maybe she will do another book.
