Reaching Cast Member Direct Extensions??

When I last spoke to a cast member on the phone about my resort reservations, they gave me a direct extension to call them if I needed to change my trip details. Then they emailed me with a basic WDW number and that same extension, along with their hours.

But I can't figure out any way to actually get through to a specific extension. And Googling that issue has shown me a few other folks with the same problem, but no answers on how to actually accomplish this.

So, while dealing with the same cast member seems nice, so far it's not proving very practical. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!!

When I called the main reservations number, there was a point when the recording asked me to enter an extension if there was someone I wanted to reach directly. Maybe try that?

Yes when you call the number they gave you it will ask you for the extension you want or if you don't have a person you wanted to talk to directly to press #2.

I'm not sure if this is a new thing, but I have never had a "Personal Vacation Advisor" before. I find it easier to just talk to whomever answers the #2 button.

And it's highly likely you will be sent to voice mail because the CM is busy.
I've learned to just call back and pay no attention to trying to get a particular CM.

Thanks everyone!

Unfortunately this isn't what has been happening. I've had it happen before, but now, no matter what number I try, I just get the automated voice asking me to tell them what I want in my own words. When I say some form of direct extension, etc., they say "Contact Information", then they ask if I want to speak to a cast member, but then they put me right into a queue for a random cast member. So I don't know what happened to the prompt for the extension. ???

The reason I did want to try to get this one person back was that they were so nice, and when they asked me to do the survey at the end, I totally intended to, since they were so awesome. And then I totally forgot and hung up! :( And so if I could get the same person even one more time, I could make darn sure I did the survey this time. :)

If that can't work, then I can at least send a cast compliment via other means, but I just wanted to do the survey for the poor guy! :)

As mentioned above, it is almost impossible to reach a particular Personal Vacation Advisor when calling them direct, they are simply too busy to answer calls coming in. If you email them and put "ASAP" in the subject line, they tend to get back to you more quickly. My experience is that my PVA will call me back that day or the next day at the latest. I have dealt with the same PVA for 6 years now, and like you, it was because they were so nice and helpful. So, make sure you include a phone# that you can be reached at any any time of the day. They will call when they have a chance or you can try and request a call back time in you email.

Thanks everyone! I did as suggested and emailed the CM. He just called me back, we got everything squared away, and I did remember to stay on the line to give him a glowing survey response! :cool1: Thanks so much for the advice, everyone! :thanks:
