So I never thought I would say this, but my family is done with Disney for awhile. I have been there over 20 times as a child and have taken my kids every year for the last 12 years. We stay at deluxe hotels, eat where we want and attend extra events of we want to. We are in stranger to spending money. I am probably the person they are targeting with all of these extras and I am disgusted. This extra morning magic is crazy. $50 a person for donuts and 3 rides!!!! Also, rope drop is now useless, we will be entering a crowded park. Over the last year and especially the last week, I'm really disheartened by Disney's blatant greed. We will be taking our significant travel dollars somewhere else for awhile. As I said I don't mind spending money there, but they are charging extra for everything and it already costs a fortune. Who do they expect to come there, it is getting ridiculous expensive. It is just not the same World anymore.

I would say that you have the option of not purchasing the extras...but I understand that for you, there is a charge now for something that was free.
I mean, I don't know how many people are going to pay for this extra stuff, so not sure how it will affect rope drop, etc...
We are not rope droppers, so this doesn't matter to us.

I see the issue though. Disney definitely seems to be slowly adding charges for things that were previously "included" in your reservation. It's a hard pill to swallow.

I'm not at my breaking point, yet, but I am starting to get annoyed at all of the little fees and stuff for sure.

You're certainly free to take your travel dollars wherever you want, I'm sure you will still find enjoyable vacation destinations. I guess my only counterpoint is these changes are all optional, you don't have to pay for the extra hours in the morning or evening, there are still EMH on different days. If they started to take stuff away, then I would totally understand the outrage, but for now they have not taken anything away. They are adding and charging for it and I personally don't see anything wrong with that. Doesn't mean I'll take advantage of it, but I see no problem if somebody else wants to.

For me, I need to clarify a bit. It is not really about the money for me, I really do not mind spending money for my family to have an amazing vacation. I know I can participate in these extras or not, but it is more the culture of Disney that I love being altered. I know longer feel the "joy" that I have been addicted to my entire life. That is where the change to something else is happening for me. I worked very hard and spent a to of money to get my children to have the same feeling. Disney holds almost all of my childhood vacation memories. We might come for a day when we are at the beach anyway, but 7-10 day trips are over for us. Looked into Costa Rica for our next vacation.

Send it in writing to them as well. Let Mickey know you have had enough of his greed. It may not make a difference, but more impact will be made if more people tell them directly instead of here.

1. If the early info is correct, it costs more than that, but includes a FULL breakfast.
2. If the early info is correct, the early morning events will not be presented every day,

Come to Disneyland Paris!

None of the 'intensity' like the MK.

They would have increase the price by 1000% before I ever even thought about going back to that terrible place.

I am seriously looking at Tokyo Disneyland for the first time though as we might swap to that one.

I feel the same. We're booked for our usual September week, but after this trip we'll be taking a break for a couple of years or more.

You're right, I think it was $49 for kids and $69 for adults. I exaggerated about the donuts-I think you get eggs too. That's worth $20 more dollars :). Really for me, it is just the whole idea of everything changing-not just these few things. It has been coming for a few years. Things just do not seem the same there and it makes me very sad.

The people on this board are so entitled. Extra Magic Hours are exactly that...EXTRA. You pay a 1 day park ticket to get entrance from Park Open to Park Close. Disney doesn't owe you free park admittance before the park opens or after it closes. Honestly Disney has offered so many free things that people are being spoiled brats now that they don't have them.

I understand that you have reached the end, but what I do not understand is why adding additional experiences that have no effect on you matter. I am not being snippy, I really do not understand. The events are scheduled on days that are not EMH, either for mornings or evening, so no one is compelled to purchase.

We do not purchase dessert parties, F&W expensive meals, and seldom buy party tickets. I wpud nto buy this either, but have no issues if others want to buy the event morning or evening extra magic hours.

I think I'm the only one that isn't bothered by this. I just won't go to those extras. No biggie. There's always been up charged things, this is nothing new. What about closing MK at 7:00 to have parties? Private tours? We had the same family that we saw all day on our EP And MK days skipping all the lines with a CM. They obviously had money to pay for a private escort around the park, and straight to the font of the lines. Just don't pay for the extras if you don't want to. I seriously doubt that these are going to draw so many people to make the parks CROWDED at rope drop. As for the rumor of resort fees....we've been paying them for years every time the rates go up in my opinion.

It is really about everything changing there for me. It all just seems so greedy and I personally do not feel good about spending my money there anymore. So for me it is about the culture changing, not specifically about these newly announced events. Hope that explains it. This has been happening with me for a couple of years, so it has been a slow process. Just lots of things I notice are very different there than before and I don't feel the same magic.

Enjoy your new vacations.
Life goes on, things change. If they didn't there would be outrage. You state it is not the extras and not the money, but the change.
So for you, it is the right decision.
There will be others who feel the same as you
And there will be many who don't We are still good, for now

When did you visit DLP?

I don't use the EMH but if they are removed in order to charge, I would be upset as well. I am not happy over resort fees being discussed.

I feel the same way! We love Disney and usually go every year! This year though we couldn't go because we had a huge financial thing and couldn't afford both. I am planning on returning to the world in 2017, but now with all these changes my hubby is like maybe we should do universal or legoland or maybe we should fly to disneyland (I hate flying!) Now I don't know what to do...hoping things will calm down a bit before I have to book my 2017 vacation and we decide what to do. I have been stalking these boards and its like something new everyday! Everything else has been so so and didn't really effect the way we travel, but the extra morning hours will effect when I need to book a pre park opening ADR...I hope they release what days they are going to be offering this at the 180 day mark so I can plan around it if we do end up going to Disney anyway in 2017
