Just a quick question.

If 1 traveller in a group of 4 is unable to fly...can I cancel 1 ticket, even though all 4 are on the same reservation?

DH is set to fly with a group of 4, but 1 of them may not be able to go..We used a promo code, and cancelled the original 4 tickets, and rebooked- saving 398 bucks...but can I cancel just 1 pax out of the 4?

Thanks

Yes, but you might need to call instead of using the internet.

Thank you very much Carol, I knew you'd have the answer!

Southwest may have changed policies, but when I needed to do this in the past, Southwest told me I couldn't cancel it ahead of time. We'd just have to have the 3 people check in and use the reservation and the funds for the 4th person would then be available for use after we actually took the flight. This is why I now book individual tickets if there's any possibility at all that plans may change.

You can ask them to "split" the reservations. (The same thing people do with the internet check in)

That gives you a confirmation number for each person and then you just cancel the reservation in question.

Sorry, I did not say that earlier... I forgot you had to do the split.

(they used to be tougher to split, but they are getting used to it now!)
