Hi!

We're taking my mom and my 2 yr old daughter to WDW at the beginning of March and we can redeem points for a suite at the Sheraton Safari or a standard room at the Doplphin for double the points.

Does anyone have any thoughts as to which would be better? The Safari hotel doesn't sound too far away but the Dolphin is right there.

Thanks!! :sunny:

Wow what a difference in quality..and location. The Dolphin is right on the Boardwalk..you can walk to EPCOT and MGM or take the boat..so much to do and a much nicer hotel..it depends on if you want to give up that many points or not. Sheraton Safari is a nice hotel too

as the last poster stated, the location of dolphin makes it tough to beat. we stayed there on our last wdw visit, it has a great pool, nice amenities, and of course the location, but--it really is just a room, no better than most nice hotel rooms. since we don't go to orlando very often, staying onsite(either wdw or uo)is our first priority because of the location, convenience, "magic", etc. but if the room is the priority, safari may be just as good

I've stayed at both the Dolphin and the Sheraton Safari. Though I stayed in a standard room at the Safari. They both have those incredible beds.

I have to say I've enjoyed both. If you want to use EMH and those amenities though- I'd highly recommend then staying at the Dolphin. I have to admit the boat transportation to Epcot and MGM was a really nice bonus.

If you do decide to stay at the Safari-- it is literally 1/8th of a mile from the WDW-DTD hotel are entrance. It is right there and a great location.

I have stayed at both (Dolphin and Safari Suites). We love them both. I was able to stay at the Dolphin on the Teacher rate. Last year we used points for the Safari Suites. I just couldn't convince myself to use all my points for one day at the dolphin vs 3 days at the Sheraton Safari in a suite. It took me a LONG time to accumulate all those points and I wanted to get the most out of them.

My girls LOVED the suite. Now they always want to stay in suites. It is really close and for an offsite hotel, it was great. There are lots of good restaurants nearby. We ate at the Orlando Ale House and Macaroni Grill. We also had Dunkin Donuts across the street and there was a nice souvenir shop there too.

I love the Dolphin because of the location. The room was just a normal hotel room. But the EPCOt area is great. It was nice to walk to EPCOT and MGM (yes, we walked to both). It was also nice to have all the Boardwalk area restaurants.

Here was our room at the Sheraton Safari:
