Re-sale... What do you physically get?

I recently put in an offer on a 150 point contract for SSR, waiting on ROFR. What does Disney send you when you purchase resale for the first time? Magic Bands? Welcome packet? Anything?

2 magnets, maybe, and a letter with your member number as well as a description as all you will not receive because you did not buy direct. That and all the points you got for much cheaper than buying direct.

We didn’t get anything post our resale purchase. Until we bought the 25 points direct. Then we got a tote bag.

Magic bands are something you can select when you have a reservation onsite including DVC stays.

Nothing from them on resale. Direct we got a tote bag and a small piece of artwork. They're not making any money off of you (directly) via resale, so no incentive to send you anything.

If you feel incomplete without the tote bag, they're listed on ebay and you can get one there. You saved a ton buying resale, I wouldn't worry about some trinkets DVD sends.

I got physically anxious a lot. That, and two magnets. Oh, there was also a black and white sheet of paper folded into an envelope that gave me my member information for account setup.

There was more fanfare after I made my first booking. The color booklet had my name on it. Did I mention it was in color?

We never got anything with either contract that we bought resale except a copy of the deed after the sale was complete and our DVC membership card. Some have said they got refrigerator magnets. we never did. Not sure that we missed anything.

You do get an annual dues statement every year in the mail. (unless you go paperless of course.) Oh... And you get notified of direct purchase addon promos for whatever they're selling.

So you aren't completely left out!

Or you can get real sneaky and agree to a contract over the phone. They mail the tote with your contract to sigb. You then decline the contract and keep the tote. $25 saved. Maybe a few karma points lost though. Either way, the tote is not all that amazing. It only fits 16 cans of beer.
