Yes I have both albuteral and advair. If I could stop coughing long enough to inhale, I'd be able to take them more often. *sigh* However sometimes, I end up coughing so hard that I vomit. I so could NEVER be a bulemic. ICK.. *sigh* I want to be well.

I know all about coughing so much and so hard that you vomit. Sending lots of pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: that you start feeling better soon. :grouphug:

Maybe Emily will be able to give us some good news today. I wonder if mine was sent with DC? I'll have to check.

Not being able to breathe must be horrible! My sister and my mom have asthma. I lucked out but my mom just developed it in the last 15 years so I still could.

Yeah, that's sort of what happened to me Kirby. All my life I dealt with Bronchitis, but 3 years ago,I had walking pneumonia, and it settled hard in my lungs, I was left with asthma.

Now if I don't catch bronchitis really quickly, I get pneumonia. This is partially my fault, though I did go see my Doctor back in December, she gave me an antibiotic therapy, I just don't think it was effective (Ketex). Since then, the coughing has gotten progressively worse, and frankly I'm DONE.

As many of you know, I just moved. Well I moved into a 2nd story apartment and climbing the flight of stairs is exhausting. I'm a Big Girl, but A flight of stairs has never winded me, now it all but makes me lay down. I feel like I have about 1/4 my normal lung capacity, and it really hurts some days when I start coughing.

*sigh* Ah well, I will go see my doctor tomorrow. It could be part of the side effects from Topamax that I've been taking to prevent Migraines. Sure I've not been getting any of those, but If I'm Constantly sick, is it any worse than having constant headaches? I'm not sure. All I know is that at this point, I give up, I surrender and I want to be well again.

Thanks for the well wishes and pixie dust guys, I really do appreciate it. You folks really are the greatest!

I'm sorry guys no good news yet...must be on its way!!!

I was hoping it would arrive today....maybe tomorrow?

I got a viral infection last year that left me with asthma that I am still treating! I have been on advair and ulbuterol combined and now she has put me on singular. We are starting with 1/2 tablet to see how that does first. On the worst days, I have to go back to the advair and ulbuterol also. They tested me for whooping cough, first, because of the coughing so hard/can't breath/throwing up....have they checked you for whooping cough? It seems to be everywhere now!

You know, it could well be whooping cough, though I'm sure I was vaccinated for it as a child. However, I went to a webpage to read it, and OMG those are my symptoms...

Major Symptoms (usually from 2 weeks onwards). Attacks of a choking cough that lasts from 1 to 2 minutes, often with vomiting, severe facial congestions and a feeling or appearance of suffocation. Between these attacks of coughing the sufferer appears and usually feels perfectly well. These choking attacks of coughing happen as little as twice a day or as many as fifty. Between attacks ('paroxysms' is the technical name) the sufferer may not cough at all.'Whooping' is a noise that comes from the voice box after a paroxysm when the sufferer is suddenly able to take a breath in again.
Only about 50% of whooping cough sufferers 'whoop' but this is where the name comes from. Sometimes the patient stops breathing after a severe bout of coughing, long enough to go blue. Occasionally the patient faints as well.
Whooping cough lasts at least 3 weeks and can frequently go on for 3 months or even longer. I am told that in China it is called the 100 day cough.

According to this I'd be about half way through it. I wonder if there;s anything that can be done. I'll be sure to bring it up to the doctors attention tomorrow am. Being able to breathe again would be wonderful.

Sorry I didn't mean to hijack the thread. :wave2:

'Ya know, I learned (last year) that the immunization we got as a child has worn off and they do not have an adult booster for Whooping Cough! I was working at an elementary school when I got sick last year and I was horrified at the prospect of having it because I would have exposed over 300 children! I was lucky, in some respects, that it only affected me and it was not WC!! Be aware, too, that if you test positive, it is considered highly contageous and you have to be reported to your State Health Department... :guilty:
