Re fillable drinks

If your staying at a Disney Hotel and get a re-fillable mug can you use this around the parks or not?

No unfortunately the refillable mugs are for your hotel only, Seaworld do refillable mugs but never seen any in the Disney Parks

You can only use your refillable mug at the resort it was purchased and only during your stay at the resort. They soon pay for themselves and make great keep sakes.

In the water parks I believe you can buy refillable mugs valid for use during your visit. If you return another day you can buy a new barcode sticker to be able to use the mug again.

Correct.Im taking my mugs back in Dec as we are staying in ASMo again.I must admit,I saw loads of people there with mugs from other resorts.I wouldnt risk that.But I doubt theyll of changed the logo come Dec,we'll see

The resorts now have generic mugs. It is the same mug at all resorts, so you can refill them at any resort, but not in the parks. You will not be able to use anu mugs that you purchased on a previous trip. They are good value - we use ours outdoors all the time and they have lasted very well.

When did they start having the same mugs?They didnt in February.Quite obviously different with name of Hotel and different designs/colours etc.

Why do you think I would not be able to use mug for my next visit in Dec?I cant see any reason (other than ethical) why not?

Yep, we just came back on Saturday from POFQ. We bought the generic mugs & they clearly state that you can use them at any resort. My DH brought his along to the GF on the day our son went on the Pirate Cruise so that he could fill his mug there and then lounge on the beach for the two hour wait.

OMG, the pirate cruise is great! I only found out about it from these boards - there's often threads in the Families section about it. Basically, they take about 15 kids or so on a boat around the lagoon looking for treasure & they come back wearing bandanas and grinning from ear to ear. It's from 9:30-11:30 & you're given a pager in case you're needed. DH spent the two hours camped out in a hammock. You have to book it in advance. I think it costs around $30.00. I booked it at the same time (and using the same number) as making my ADRs.

Because as Deb as pointed out they are now all the generic Year of a Million Dreams mugs and therefore as your mug is of an old design no longer sold you may get stopped if you try to use it as it was sold 'free refills for length of stay'

I never see the point about taking old mugs back as it only about £7 for a new mug for refills the whole time you are there its not going to break the bank if you can already afford the trip to WDW!!

BTW We are returning to CSR (one of the few resorts where they are still selling the 'Resort specific mugs') and we are not taking back our mugs from I just can't be bothered with the hassle besides they make great souvniers and we use them at home all the time!

We take our old mugs back to the Water parks and buy new sticker but not to save money, it to be different to the rest of the crowds. You would not believe the excitement from staff when we use our mug from 1993, We get comments like "wow this is from when we sold quailty mugs." and "hey come look at this, remember these". We sometimes buy a new one as well but would not be without our older mugs, they were better.

A few years ago a good way to get a thread closed was to go on cruise section and ask if its OK for a family to share a mug rather than pay the ridiculous price each? it turned nasty sometimes There is a free soda station now so subject does not come up.
