Re-fillable Drink Mug Question

We are staying at AKV-KV from 12/11 - 12/14, then we move to BLT. If we buy the re-fillable mugs at KV, can we take the same mugs with us to BLT and continue to use them? Or do we have to buy new ones? We've never bought the mugs before, but probably will this time. Thanks.

There have been lot of threads on this subject.

The machines say the mug is good for the length of your stay (assuming at some WDW resort)

The mugs say the mug is good for the length of your reservation (since any switching resorts or even rooms or linked reservation have 2 numbers you could be at the same resort and not meet this requirement)

Most CMs (although if you ask 10 CMs you are likely to get at least 5 different answers) seam to use the length of stay as the criteria as do most guests.

I have not moral issues with using it for length of stay, but some may.

Thanks so much. I think that length of stay makes more sense. We'll probably plan to try this when we switch to BLT.

It's the same exact mug sold at every resort. Our last stay in July/Aug was split between 2 resorts. We bought at AKV - which has easy and convenient locations to refill. When we transferred to BWV, we only used them a few times. The options there weren't as convenient.

However, I do miss the resort specific mugs. They were fun to collect.

You will get a lot of different answers on this question, both from the people on these boards and from WDW castmembers.

Last year we had a split stay between VWL and BCV and my feeling was this: I originally wanted to stay the whole trip at BCV and when the first few days of my stay were not available, I took VWL instead. But it was one vacation, so we used them at both locations. I don't know who the supreme authority on this might be, but I have to think that the mugs are not resort specific for this very reason.

Now if you go home in between stays and bring the mugs back with you, that's a different story.

My feeling about it is that if you're doing a split stay, there's nothing wrong with keeping the mug for your whole stay.

BUT..knowing me, I'd probably keep my receipt and ask at BLT if it was OK.

The funny thing is you are worried about buying mug and doing a split stay, using the mug at both resorts. On my last trip in July, I stayed at VWL. I was absolutely amazed of all the different mugs being used at Wilderness Lodge, Roaring Fork. For every "current" mug that was used, there had to be 5 "old" resort mugs being used. 1 in 10 mugs weren't even Disney!!!!

We use our mugs for length of stay on split ressies.

Since both resorts are selling the same mugs the ones you purchase at the Animal Kingdom Villas can also be used at the Contemporary and Bay Lake Tower, so you don't need to purchase the same set of mugs twice on the same vacation.
