I made an ADR for 5:30 pm at Artist Point thinking we would eat dinner then go to the party at 7:00 pm. However, since then people have been saying that the P&P tickets are good for entry as early as 4:00 pm. We have a 'first day at disney' tradition of always riding It's a Small World first. I don't really consider the vacation started until I ride it. I figured we could go into MK for an hour or so before we eat and hop on It's a Small World. It wouldn't matter to me since I have an AP but my traveling companion only has a 7 day hopper pass.
I would expect thhat as long as you had both the ticket and the correct wristband it would not be a problem. However, I would make sure to carry the receipt from AP showing you had just eaten there. And tell them what time you first entered the park; that is easy to check at the turnstile.

Here's a picture of my son on the exit ramp to Small World last year....
The only "Small World" tradition I think this family will have is to see if my DD can con DS into getting on that ride again. (she actually convinced her BF, who HATES the music on SW, that it's been updated once you get inside, with rap and rock sections that wouldn't get stuck in her head all vacation.... )
