Hey I read awhile back that they are re-doing River Belle Terrace. Does anyone know if it is going to be a sit down waiter service restaurant? Anyone seen any plans of what it is going to look like?

i hope not :sad1: . i love that place and its old new orlean charm. i like it just the way it is.

From MousePlanet:
The complete reconstruction of River Belle Terrace into a larger two-story restaurant with improved views for Rivers of American and Fantasmic is still on course to begin after the 2006 summer season, as early as September but possibly as late as the end of October. Recent word indicates that this project will be the death of Bengal BBQ as the reconstruction will eat up that space to give more room to the redesigned restaurant. It may also cut into the space occupied, or completely close, the Indiana Jones Adventure Outpost store.

I'm going to have make sure I get to the Bengal BBQ. I heard a number of people rave about it.

Never went there myself either. I'm still bummed that I never got the chance to eat at the Polynesian too...

OMG my heart fell to my knees when I heard that...I am going to have to overdose on bengal this trip as alas I may never eat there again

Thanks for the info everyone. I have to admit that I was a bit shocked that they want to do away with Bengal BBQ. It always seeems so busy, when it is open, and it seems like Disney would be making a good bit of change with the price point of the skewers. Oh well, hopefully the new River Belle will be a sit down and not a counter service. Disneyland needs a new sit down.

If anyone knows if this is indeed going to be a Sit Down please let me know.

Bengal BBQ is always empty when we go, but we don't go on major holidays. Most of the time it's closed completely. Hopefully when we go next week we can eat there one last time. I'll see what I can find out about the redo of RBT while I'm there and let you know when I get back!
