I just got done listening to the discussion of couples meeting because of Disney or the DIS. I love hearing stories like this especially now that I am single again. I'd love to hear more. If anyone has a story to share about a couple meeting thanks to their love of WDW, DLR, or Disney itself, please share it here. :lovestruc

I was wondering how Kevin and John met, Kevin said they met through Disney and I had this vision of them on Main Street. They see each other across the walkway, their eyes lock, they start walking toward each other....little Cinderella bluebirds flying over their heads, they meet in the middle of the street and walk hand in hand towards the castle...:lovestruc

John and I met online....but Disney was the common denominator at first.

I love those stories. My partner and I met because of musical theater, which is just right for us. I am in the process of converting him to Disney fandom.

DW and I didn't meet because of WDW, we met hiking. WDW did, however, play a big role in keeping us together. We went to WDW in December 2001, a few months after we started dating. My 10 year old daughter was with us. That DW would brave going to WDW with DD and me (we were in full commando mode) was impressive enough but what sealed it for me was watching her spend several hours at the WL pool repeatedly going down the slide with DD in 50 degree weather.

:rolleyes1 Okay...the shorter and what I hope sounds more wholesome version:

I was at college working on my Psychology major/Social Welfare minor and had team up with some psychology projects with one of the top of the class students. She told me after a month of classes about this guy who she thought I should date. Apparently, this guy like women with certain set of attributes. Well, I had reduced my hours that fall from my job (changed positions/less intense hour load) so I thought...free dinner...why not.

1 week--- no call from him (I didn't have his number)...Happy 22nd Birthday to me...strike 1

2 weeks---no call, mutual friend tells me---don't give up on him yet

3 week--- he calls...chatted a bit and date was set...just barely made my set deadline

First Date--my on-campus college apartment (I had 3 other room-mates--not there that night)

Knock-Knock
I opened the door and saw this 6'5.5" guy with 2 roses. He drove me to Little Italy for dinner in his cousin's car, walked along the Inner Harbor, and we then decided to see a movie. Well, this geek worked several jobs and one was at a movie theater. He could not get us into Interview With A Vampire, but there was open seats for :santa: Santa Clause. (Disney movie)

:rolleyes1 We watched the movie and yada yada yada... and eventually led to choosing WDW to being part of our Honeymoon plans...19 months after we started dating (First Valentine's date --- Lion King in the cheap movie theater).

 Tonight, my geek brought home flowers for no reason ;) .

My wife and I met on a Disney fan message board much like this one. I won't name it, as we are no longer active on it, but it was Disney that brought us together.

At the time we lived 3000 miles apart so we had to meet in neutral locations, usually WDW and DLR. After we were married we honeymooned at DL before heading off to Maui.

Ours is definitely a Disney fairy tale come true.

My dh and I met right here on these very boards!!! There is an adults/singles board that we each hung out at and poof -- magic happened! We also know of at least 2 other couples that met and married due to these boards.

Long story short...we were married in the wedding pavilion at WDW 3 years ago and continue to vacation in Disneyworld, Disneyland on Disney cruises and even with ABD!!

To say Disney brought us together is a major understatement!!!

How cool. Was your first meeting at Disney? Don't mean to be nosey, but I'd love to hear about it. WDW or DL? Where did you stay?

Actually our very first meeting was in New York City, but it was complete with a visit to World of Disney (when it was still on Fifth Avenue) complete with character meet n greets. Our first trip to a Disney destination was shortly after, when we did a San Diego - Disneyland trip and stayed at The Disneyland Hotel. We both still agree that those few days were some of the best of our lives. Now we try to get down to WDW a couple times a year, but we don't get to DL as often as we'd like. My wife grew up on the west coast and at DL, while I grew up in the east and at WDW, so she really misses DL. She has completely fallen in love with WDW though, of course.

Thanks for sharing....you guys really must be a great match, I mean she moved to Buffalo for you! :rotfl:

We're kinda neighbors...I'm in Cleveland, so I know what it must mean to have someone willing to move to a place where you get as much snow as we do!

:rotfl: You were so struck down on that one, Lisa. ;)

Awesome stories everyone! I'd love to hear more!
