My husband I will be celebrating our 2nd anniversary in August. We had the opportunity to enjoy a week long honeymoon at Disney World. I would love to surprise my husband this year by re-creating our honeymoon at home. I want to somehow turn our house into a romantic look back at our honeymoon. I am planning on making a dessert that we loved from Ohana's and a pineapple float as a snack from Magic Kingdom but does anyone have any good ideas??? I just want to make our anniversary special and need some help. Thanks! :)

Well, let's see... what were some of your other favorite parts of the honeymoon that you could re-create?

Like, if you loved going to the water parks, maybe you could play in the hose. (I'm not kidding - I love to play in the hose! :rotfl:)

Or maybe you could turn your bathroom into a spa and give each other mud treatments.

And of course, you could watch a Disney movie - epsecially one that's based on a ride, like Pirates of the Caribbean or Haunted Mansion (you can fast-forward through the boring parts of that one).

DH says you should make Mickey waffles or pancakes... he also suggests playing the soundtrack to Space Mountain in your car and driving around your neighborhood at night (he's not kidding either!).

We're stumped by the fireworks, though. Do you have a baseball stadium nearby that does fireworks after the games? We're spoiled because Dodger stadium and the Hollywood Bowl both have a lot of fireworks shows over the summer.

Hmmm... I wonder if the folks over on the Budget Board would have some suggestions too - I think you have a great idea! :thumbsup2

I can't give you any pointers since I've never been to DW; but I just wanted to say: what a wonderful idea, and I can't wait to hear your plans!!!

Did you have special toasting flutes you used on your wedding day? If you did, I would suggest pulling those out and enjoy a nice drink over dinner.

If I think of more, I will post more. But I agree with Lurkyloo, tell us what you loved most about your trip! :thumbsup2

CARRIE!!

IM LOVING THIS IDEA! HAHAHAHAAH!! Too funny!

Okay, a couple of you asked what our favorite parts of our honeymoon were. We loved strolling through the countries at Epcot late in the evening. One afternoon we walked along the Boardwalk and then went over to the Grand Floridian and just relaxed on their little beach out back. It was fun in the parks to just be goofy and get our pictures taken with all of the characters. We loved getting dressed up in the evenings and going to a nice dinner. Our favorite restaurants were Ohana's, The Coral Reef Restaurant, and Raglan Road in Downtown Disney. We enjoyed spending a Saturday afternoon in the pool at our resort. The little things were everything that we loved most and just being able to spend time together in a magical place that made you feel like two kids again! :)

I subscribe to Live365 and DFi and I listen to MouseWorldRadio when we need a Disney pick me up. I'm planning on our 1 year before our wedding making a few of our favorite Disney foods and playing on the stations. I'll maybe even toss in The Little Mermaid and do the ride on the special features.

I don't know if the fireworks was a favorite part of your honeymoon but i have seen a youtube of a dvd of them (I haven't posted enough so I can't post the links)

It looks like if you google "Disney Wishes dvd" there are a couple that come up...of course I haven't gotten one so it could be lame. (I guess you could also contact disney and get a planning dvd that always was fun to watch, ha) If you want to see the youtube the video is titled "Disney World Fireworks - Garage Engagement Proposal" I think the one in this youtube is one that was listed somewhere on thelaughingplace.com

you could also make a slide show of pictures and put disney music to the background and watch it while eating homemade mickey goodies or popcorn! :) best of luck.

I think the best parts of "Staycations" are unplugging the internet, turning off the phones- tell people you're gone. Feeling like you are the only two people in the world can be romantic.

I def. would download some Disney music, did you stay on property? If you stayed at thr Poly- download some luau music, or at AK download some African music that you would hear being played at AKL..
