It is so nice to see so many becoming community leader. I filled out mine over 3 weeks ago and have received no reply. No email to answer questions no nothing. I am sure it went to the excess space junk in the great VMK dark hole. Guess I will wait another week and reapply then. Maybe it is because like some others have posted I started in the Beta stage. Oh well someday I am sure I will be able to be one.
Also anyone else notice that most of the smileys don'r show a picture. Wonder what the problem is.

If you have not received the questions, chances are you have an email provider that has decided these are spam. AOL seems to be the biggest culprit. People have been receiving questions immediately after applying now.

If you think that is the problem, get an account on one of the online email providers and give that address when you apply. Good Luck!

(I am still waiting to hear)

thanks I will check my spam

No nothing in Spam so I will apply again

In regards to AOL (if you are using it):

There is a good chance that it never made it to your spam folder. AOL will actually "bounce" the email back without you even being notified. The screening system they use is very quick to block emails that other service providers accept with no problem. At one time they even blocked a huge section of Comcast users.

They are one of my biggest headaches in managing sites for my customers. I highly recommend that users find an AOL alternative as Blizzard suggested for important emails ... or better yet switch to more cost effective ISP.

Ok does that me I can not become a community leader because I use an aol email account. Can we change our email accounts to our primary character. Is there a way for me to select somewhere in aol to allow emails from Disney. This is so sad. Thanks for your advice.

you can't change email accounts...I was about to tell you to get a hotmail or yahoo account but i realized it sends to whatever email you set it up as...

is there a way to turn OFF the spam blocker? The questions arrived to me within an HOUR of applying.

Actually you might be able to change your account info.

Try visitng:
http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/myVacation/index?id=MyVacationIndexPage
(My Vacation page)

Login and then click on: UPDATE YOUR INFORMATION

Now this might just apply to folks that use their reservation system, but give it a try. It works for my account there.

In regards to "turning off" the AOL system that bounces the mail. No - if the email source is ID'd as being "undesirable" for the AOL system, you have no control. AOL blocks it before it even reaches your mail box. This is totally different than any spam controls they offer per mail account. They figure they know what is best for you ... isn't that "special"? ... why I do not recommend them for important email!

You can change your email address (username) permanently by going to the Disney website as noted above. This will change your login for VMK as well. (I had to do this on one of my alternate characters, as I had put in the wrong email address)

A simpler way to do it, without a permanent change, is when you apply for community leader, I believe after you sign in, they ask for an email address to contact you at. This is the address they will send the info to. Just put in an alternate contact address. This will keep your sign in the same, but have the mail regarding your issue (in this case community leader) sent to a different address.

Yes, You can actually change your email address through the account services administration page. If you currently log onto vmk using your smtp address it maybe difficult to change this, but here are some instructions from another post I created on another site:

Disney Online - Guest Services Account Administration
There have been some posts within vmk forums regarding Disney Online account administration. The good news is they have such a web site, but unfortunately birthday information cannot be changed. For those asking these types of questions:

Have you ever wondered how you could change your "Disney Online" password?
Have you ever wondered how to change your email address for your current member name?
Have you ever wondered how to even delete your account?
Have you ever wanted to sign up for promotions or email newsletters?
Have you ever wanted to receive birthday greeting from a Disney character?
Have you ever wanted to manage all family accounts under one main account?

Disney Online provides guest services where you can review your account information. The following four sections comprise Disney Online guest services:

Disney Online - Your Account Tab
The "Your Account" tab provides primary account holder, member name, first name, last name, and member name hyperlink to "Modify" tab section.

Disney Online - Modify Tab
The "Modify" tab allows you to modify your email address, password, country, street address, city, state and zip code.
(Note: Updated 08/01/2005: Sorry vmk members you cannot change or see your birth date information currently, hopefully in the future you will be able to change or see birth date information since vmk requests this anyways).

Disney Online - Add New Member
The "Add New Member" tab allows you to create additional family members that you can review family accounts under one roof. This section allows you to add different types of family members (i.e. Kids, Teens or Adults). Creating new family member allows you to see their member name informaton on the "Your Account" tab. This is great for adults who want to administer their childrens Disney Online account information.

Disney Online - E-Newsletter Options
The "Occassional Updates and Offers" section provides options for receiving occasional updates and offers from Disney Online, Walt Disney Company Family Of Business and Selected Third Party Vendors. The "E-Mail Newsletters" section provides options for receiving email newsletters from (A) The Disney Insider Newsletter (B) Family Fun Weekender (C) Family Fun "In The Kitchen" Newsletter (D) Family Fun Arts & Crafts Newsletter. The last section provides option for receiving a birthday email greeting from Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy or Pluto.

The Guest Services home page has many great account administration features. The following directions will allow you to sign into your account:

(1) Click on the "Your Account" button
(2) Click on the "Your Account" button a second time
(3) Click on "Already Registered? Click Here" button
(4) Provide your member name and password.

Now you are off and running regarding your Disney Online guest services account administration.

Well I filled out my application and it told me I needed to play longer....Hmm I started my account just prior it being opened to the public....

no letter for me still. oh well i will re apply may be soon.

Yeah, I had to use my gmail account and immediately got my questions a minute or two after. Dang AOL >_>

WDWtiggerRT you are not just an awesome fireworks player but have a lot of smarts too. So the myth is busted if you constatnly play video games brain cells do not die they muliply. Thanks for you help I am more encouraged now.

Hey, Little Belle!

I have applied a few times and never received the questionnaire. I too, have AOL. So I reapplied, and indicated that I was using a different e-mail address (the one associated with a character I set up in my husband's name, but I never use) but that the application was for me. Within five minutes of applying, I received the questions! Try again!
