Is there a grace period for getting the re-booking discount after you cruise, or do you just miss the boat for the discount if you don't book while on board?

My first cruise was a couple of years ago. My wife and I were married at the Wedding Pavillion in WDW. After a few more days in WDW we went on our honeymoon cruise (3 day ).

It was my first time cruising so we went on a 3 day to "get my feet wet". I loved it so much I couldn't wait to go again (my wife had been on a DCL cruise before and she really enjoys it too).

While on the cruise I couldn't seem to find the time to speak with the DCL rep so I wound up calling the DCL 800 number the morning we disembarked.

I spoke to numerous people including some supervisors. They refused to budge on this issue even though it had only been a couple hours since we got off the Wonder.

The bottom line: Don't leave the ship without booking!!

There used to be a grace period, but not anymore! Book while on board...and sit there and wait for her if you need to.

Also, bring any internet documentation you can re rates--Donna has twice quoted me higher rates than normal (not discount) TAs on line. The first time, I didn't book with her...went home and got the cheaper. Then I heard stories of her matching documented rates. The second time, I booked at her higher rate, then went home and found the cheaper. DCL changed my ressie to the cheaper, allowing me to keep the $200 plus 10%, but I've heard that they don't usually do that (could be that I called Mon am after the ship docked on Sat). In any event, the more print outs you have for Donna, the better!

Is Donna the onboard booking agent?

I was wondering how this works, too. I already have my eye on a 7 day cruise (I'm assuming we'll love our 3night cruise in Sept.) but DCL's prices seem so much higher, that 10 percent doesn't seem like it would do it if I try to book onboard for next fall.

So you can bring printouts from other agents?

Don't know who the booking agent is on the Wonder but on the Magic it's Danielle Clark. HTH
