RE: Additional charge?

Eventually, I'll get around to calling Disney to get the official answer on this (if and when it becomes necessary), but I'm betting y'all can point me in the right direction!

Right now, I'm scheduled to take a solo trip, staying at POR. There's a chance that my friend Betsy may decide to join me - if I know her, it'll be a very, very last minute decision. Anyway, I've booked and paid for the room, listing only myself as a guest.

I've heard two different things about additional guests. One is that there's a $25 per night charge for the additional guest. But there seems to be a little confusion about whether this applies all the time, or only when there are two adults in the room ALREADY, and the person being added on is a third.

Can anyone give me the official line on this one? Not that it'll make or break the decision, but hey, if I don't have to cough up an additional couple hundred bucks, that'd be swell.

Adding to the confusion is when I asked the agent at Crusing Company who booked this for me, she seemed to think the additional charge would be around $350... which for a 7 night stay is a lot more than $25 bucks a night!

Thoughts?

You should be able to have two adults in the room for no extra charge, except for park admission.

Unless you did the FTP, then it all could change.

If you booked just a room you can have 2 adults. No additional fee. Just inform them when you check in that there are now two adults and it won't be a problem.

Well, that makes me feel better... and a little nervous. Why on earth would my travel agent from Crusing Company tell me otherwise? Shouldn't they know the policy?

And what is FTP? I've seen it listed before, and I'm going to guess I didn't book it, since I'm not sure what it is... then again, you never know!

FTP- Fairy Tale package. It was a room and UPH tickets included in package. You bought 4 days and got 3 more for free.

As far as knowing that yes the agent should have but they can't know everything. There are agents that are Disney specialists. It requires study, testing to become one.

Hi I have a solo trip planned as well. My mom is considering coming on this trip (although I am 99% sure that she will not come) and could make a last minute decision as well. I have the FTP booked (the one where you pay for 4 nights and get 3 more free). Since I am going on the FTP plan, I called to ask just in case and the only charges that would apply to a 2nd person in my room are the UPH tickets which was $332 more - no additional room charges. When you paid for the room you generally pay for 2 persons in it so you should just be able to add her on without room charges even at the last minute.
