We’re going next Saturday the 10th. First day Sunday is Animal Kingdom. We will be there at rope drop but have no interest in Flight of Passage. What should be our first stop?

Several years ago DINOSAUR never had much of a line even at 3pm. I love that ride (yes, we actually exist) but is it still a short line ride we can delay to the afternoon?

How about FotLK and the other shows? Are they back on?

Any other Amimal Kingdom tips you’d like to share? I don’t have a dinner reservation so any tips there? Before we’ve done restaurantasaraus and Pizzafari. But I’m sure there are better options.

I’d do EE first, though much of park should be walk-on at rope drop since everyone runs to Avatar. And we love flame tree for quick service and Tusker House for a sit down character meal.

It is my understanding that Dinosaur and KS are not available at rope drop, that they open with the official park hours. According to the sticky Rope Drop thread, EE, FOP, and Navi are the only 3 attractions usually open before official park hours. I may not have that right, but that is my understanding .

We are going at the end of July. Got an ADR at Tusker House one day, which says a lot bc we will only eat maybe 3 times in the parks on our 6 day trip.

Definitely do Dinosaur last. It doesn't get much of a wait, relatively speaking for wait times now.

Be prepared (no pun intended!) to wait up to an hour for the FOTLK show-when we were there the last week of June people were lining up an hour early. Maybe distancing is still a thing there? We had seen it twice before in it's non modified version (we love the monkey acrobats and flying birds, which are not in the modified version) so we didn't wait.

I second doing Tusker House for the table service meal, and we really liked Flame Tree for our QS. After looking at the menus, I think we're going to try 8 Spoon Cafe when we're there in August. Have others tried it? Is it good? I didn't realize KS wasn't available at rope drop...we were planning to do that b/c we doubt we're fast enough walkers to do FOP first...

What is the difference between rope drop time and official opening time?

Under normal circumstances, rope drop means they let you on some attractions at least a few minutes before the posted park hours. Nowadays, I am unclear on which parks are doing it and which aren't. Things are changing pretty quickly.

Thanks!
No kidding that things are changing quickly. I'm going next week, and bringing my computer, partly because I'm sure that some things might change during my trip.
