Has anyone done the Royal Caribbean/USF land and sea package? Do you recommend it? Do you recommend the 3 or 4 day cruise? Any other suggestions, comments etc. greatly appreciated. Considering for my family of 4 for June.

I have not done Royal Caribbean's Land & Sea package. That said, I have cruised Royal Caribbean and been to Universal. I am also an avid Disney Cruiser.

What do you want in a cruise? Have you cruised before? What is important to you?

Truth be told, you could not pay me to go on another Royal Caribbean cruise, but others will differ in their opinions. Plus I believe that with the RCCL/Universal package, you are going on Monarch of the Seas, which is one of their older ships (Sovereign class) and doesn't have the bells and whistles of their Freedom/Oasis class ships.

We go on short Disney cruises all the time, and then pair them with a few days at Universal. Our own land & sea package that is easy to customize. It's cheap and easy to piece-meal. Not nearly as overwhelming as you'd think. Plus, a good travel agent can help you if you'd feel more comfortable. I don't know what perks Royal Caribbean is offering with Universal and booking together.

I would not do less than a 4-night cruise, because it really goes by so quickly. The first day you are on the ship around noonish, and you are off the ship at about 8 am on the last day. You blink and the cruise is gone.

With the Disney's new ship the Dream coming out in January, I would look into that, unless a casino really matters to you.

AlexandNessa, thanks for the reply and info.

We have done WDW several times. Most recently summer 2010 at Polynesian. We have done USF twice, and just last January. We did a caribbean cruise summer 2009 aboard Carnival Legend. We loved all. This summer we are planning to do USF primarily for WWoHP. We know we only need 2-3 days at USF.

I would love to go on a Disney cruise, but it is much more expensive.

We are debating if we should do the USF/RCI package which seems to be a pretty good deal (~$800 pp) or just head to a florida beach for a few days after WWoHP.

I wonder if anyone could compare the service and amenities of Carnival Legend to RCI Monarch of the Seas...???

Or does anyone have suggestions as to a nice beach resort to head to before or after a few days at USF?

FYI, the Freedom of the Seas is also included as well as the Monarch for the "Way More Than a Cruise" (look at waymorethanacruise.com for more details) and by the way, you can do a 7 night cruise + 3 or 4 night add on at the hotel, or even more, if you wanted to add on. I was looking into doing this myself...let me know what you find out! ;) Kelly
