TIA for anyone who reads this post. I am aware that someone else may have asked these questions, but I couldn't find the post if they did.

I am a new owner in Wyndham points and I don't even have access to the portal yet, otherwise I would look on my own.

I should have access in 4-6 weeks. I am looking for DVC the week of the 17th-24th of September. As I have points and not a week to trade, I am unaware of "trading power". I have 259,000 points out of Daytona Beach, FL.

Can anyone tell me how likely it is to snag a DVC room during that time period? Is there anything available right now? How many points is the conversion for a studio/1 bedroom/2 bedroom?

TIA again!

Don't get your heart set on anything happening quickly with Wyndham. We closed on July 29, 2010. There was a delay of about two weeks which was not Wyndham's fault, but we didn't get access to our account until December 28.

That is just the Wyndham portion of the account which allowed us to access our Wyndham points -- NOT RCI. But we were able to make our first Wyndham reservation and deposit some expiring points into RCI at the end of December.

LAST WEEK -- mid-February and SEVEN MONTHS into this epic journey, we finally got access to RCI through Wyndham. Well sort of... Actually, we can go on the RCI page via Wyndham and check availability, but the points we deposited two months ago still do not show up in RCI.

I have made about three dozen phone calls, numerous emails, feedback submissions on the Wyndham website, and negative surveys regarding my unsuccessful interactions with Wyndham. I have spoken to some wonderful Wyndham people who tried very hard to help. Bottom line, though, only two of those phone calls have resulted in anything positive and we STILL don't have our points that were deposited in RCI.

I would really not depend on Wyndham for anything until you are fully in their system with full access to all of your points and booking options. And that is likely to be several more months -- some have waited YEARS and still don't have their accounts.

On the bright side, most of the comments I've read about Wyndham resorts have been very favorable. Once you're completely set up, everyone seems to love the system.

The TUG Wyndham forum is a great resource for all things Wyndham.

Wow you are still waiting. When we closed on my 1st contract I called to ask about switching my personal RCI contract over to Wyndham, I talked to someone in Owners Service ? and he told me he'd call back no later than 2 days. He did call back(couldn't use mine because of the member #) but he had my info for me to set up my Wyndham RCI account. I had it up and running that day.

Had no problem with the new interface with Wyndham either. Other than they dragged their feet on my Alexandria contract(didn't get it on the books until Jan, so I didn't get my transaction credits for 2010) I've been pretty happy with them.

Now I did have a horror story getting on the books with my Bluegreen-managed week I have in MI. :scared1:

Wow Jim that was a long time to get everything set up. From the day I bought my resale to the day it was deeded into my name it was 3 months.

My journey only began on January 25th. The recorded deed was mailed to me on Friday and Transfer of Ownership was mailed on the same day to Wyndham. I have another 6 to 8 weeks on average for Wyndam to acknowledge me as the new owner.
