RCI trade into DVC

Don't know if this is the best place for this, so feel free to move it if not.

DH and I are planning on going to WDW Sept 09 with my parents. They have a week with RCI that needs to be used or either they lose it.
My question is this... with the recent news on RCI and DVC being a partner, how is this going to work with RCI members trading into DVC, and do you all think there will be anything open for Sept or Oct 09?

Sorry for this being such a vague question, but I'm not exactly sure where to start on the planning phase. We had planned for Bonnet Creek, but with this happening, our plans may be changing.

Also, if you all don't know the answers do you know a number I can call or a website?

The relationship between RCI and DVC will not begin until January 1, 2009 and no details have been announced regarding how it will work for DVC members.

RCI members will need to refer to RCI publications and website (www.rci.com) for any exchange information. As usual, availability will depend on what may be deposited by DVC members into the RCI spacebank and the trading strength of the RCI resort you have banked.

Once a reservation has been acquired via RCI, you would have access to DVC member services to make any requests, add Magical Express and/or the Dining Plan.

At this point, I doubt RCI has any information available since nothing can be done until at least after the start of the new year. In the past, those with the best success used an ongoing search, but many also found success by checking the II website on a regular basis. RCI will likely function in the same fashion.

FWIW, Bonnet Creek is far from certain as well. Wyndham controls all deposits (much as with DVC) and Bonnet Creek doesn't go in very often.

My suggestion is to call RCI shortly after the first of the year, and enter an ongoing search for your dates. DVC tended to deposit more units for September than other times, and I expect that will be true with RCI as well.
