Hi:
I'm back again. I may be renting points for a family wedding at Hard Rock Hotel in Punta Cana from a friend of a friend. They don't own at Hard Rock, but they are part of RCI. The wedding is on May 2nd which is a Friday. My question is does anyone know if you can rent a week from Thursday to Wednesday or do is it specifically, Saturday to Friday because it wouldn't work if it works that way.

Right now, RCI shows both Wed 4/30 and Thurs 5/1 arrivals for *AI* Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana (#A791) in hotel units.

Looking at the Hard Rock Punta Cana website, I'd suggest it would be far, far better to book directly. Ask the wedding coordinator if package rates have been secured for your family's wedding party?

Thank you so much for the response and information. So, in addition to renting the points from an RCI member, I would have to pay $7,098 for the all inclusive? I hope I'm wrong.

Yes, if you were booking the 2BR unit through RCI. Seriously, it appears far better to book your stay directly from Hard Rock for any length of stay you choose.

Looks like you can book this location via Expedia as well for rates similar to booking direct with HRC ($430/night for double occupancy hotel room). The nice thing about booking via HRC or Expedia is that you can shorten the stay to just 2 or 3 nights -- thus reducing the outlay of AI fee.

I hope, for your sake, that the wedding coordinator arranged for even better rates for the wedding guests!

You've gotten a lot of good info. I looked at many of the AI resort options in Punta Cana recently for a friend/coworker getting married around the same time. Technically you cannot rent something gotten from RCI on exchange but from a true friend there really isn't much risk. Just realize through RCI you have to get and pay for an entire week. It might be a good idea to have someone contact the resort and see if you can get a group rate package.
