Can any of our RCI owners give me the $0.10 story on the trading in..?

We've got a week to use next year, on a guest certificate (gift from family) to use.

(The family/owner stayed at Vistana and OLCC in 2006...they exchanged their weeks in SC.)

Any hope, you think, of finding a 3 bedroom, if we deposit now, and wait? Last year, they were able to trade their 1 bedroom and got a 2 bed at both SV and OLCC for first 2 weeks of March.

I'm hoping for the first week of March..

Your thoughts/opinions/experiences much appreciated!:goodvibes

It's certainly not too early to start a search with it. 3BRs are tough, but week 9 isn't that busy, so you might have a shot.

We own a T/S and trade through RCI. We have done it for years. I have to say that I don't think I have ever even read about a resort which has 3 bedroom units. Search RCI and see if any even exist, although I would guess if they do some place in Orlando would have one. There are a few 3 bedroom units at DVC, but good luck trading into those.

Thanks!

Hopefully something will pop in for that week...a 2 bed is okay, I just hate having to haul the sofa bed in and out every night:headache:

I'll have to do a little more reading for the 1/4 rules..

We've stayed in 3brs in Orlando at Summer Bay and the Embassy Grand Beach. I know the HGVCs have them. We own one at Mystic Dunes (sorry, II only). We are staying in a 2br at Westgate Vacation Villas (or some such name) next month but it sleeps 10 or 12 because it has a loft.

I'd be sure and deposit right now and start an ongoing search. What resort and size will you be using to trade? Your post confused me a bit.

Hmmm..okay, I can pull up a 3 bedroom at Cypress Pointe, or the Villas at Fortune Place for that first week of March.

That's trading the 1 bed at the South Carolina timeshare 4/2 accomodations
i can get Sheraton, and pretty much all the others when looking for a 2 bedroom.

I'll try the WIVC weeks, and see what that brings up...but I think the Cypress Pointe would be okay.

Sorry Sheila, for the confusion:)

My "close-as-sister" cousin and her husband have several timeshare weeks..and every year, they gift my parents with a week...

My job is to plan it! LOL!

As they have quite a few to chose from to exchange, I just have to keep trying combos, I guess:)

Tough problem;);)

thanks!

I forgot about Cypress Point. I pulled a 3br for the third week of March 2008 when I was doing a search this morning. I was tempted to take it since I've always wanted to try that resort. It gets very good comments on TUG. I'm just not sure we want to go to Orlando. I'm holding out for the beach.

the HGVC - I think it is one in 5 - does not appear until 11 months or less before hand.

CWR doesn't either.

Ahh..thanks Pat!:goodvibes

I think I'll *gulp* wait and see if HGVC - particularly SeaWorld - pops up then..and we may be bringing the pooch, so it may have to be CWR.

And that list with the resort numbers...spectacular!!

Saw that one for the 3rd week of March, too, Sheila...I think we'll be at "our" villa for thatweek, though..relaxing and enjoying the no crowds around our pool:teeth:

the HGVC - I think it is one in 5 ....

Uh-oh..

I just checked with the family, they're going to HGVC this year.:(

So that plan won't work for another 5 years:teeth:

Unless I use another one of their weeks that they didn't use with HGVC...:scratchin

Is it 1/4, 1/5 per member..or per unit trade?

I'll check on TUG, as well:)

:sunny:

if they are all under the same membership number then you can do the HGVC ID one or which ever one they aren't doing - but otherwise you get to wait....

there are some Marriott on RCI but only the 2-bedroom ones.

Royal Palms
Cypress Harbour
Sabal Palms
