As you can see by my sig we are new DVC members . Although we definately plan to mostly go home with our points, I thought I would visit the RCI/DVC exchange website:

Now, when I look at the big thick book & the world passport map, which accompanied our new membership, hardly any of the resorts listed on the website are listed in this book. Am I only allowed to exchange my points for what is in the book or may I exchange for those also on the website. Please clarify.

Hi. I saw where no one had answered your question. By the way, congratulations on your purchase.

My guess would be that when you bought in, you were provided the old information for the World Passport Collection (which was Interval International). As of 2009, the outside exchange company has changed to RCI. So the RCI resorts through the website are what you can trade for now.
