I apologize for starting a new thread for this - but just wanting to know if anyone has a good source for candid information about RCI resorts?

I did find a timeshare forum online, but the posters seemed a little bit too "positive" about RCI. I was hoping DVC members would have a better perspective. I've heard that many of the resorts are fairly low-quality, but can't seem to find a good source of how to figure which ones are (or are not) decent.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

You can read reviews of various timeshares on the TUG website HERE - you do need to create a login but don't have to pay to join unless you want to. The TUG timeshare forums are HERE if you want to ask questions about a specific resort or timeshare region.

RCI does not own any resorts, they are just a timeshare exchange program. Your best bet for a quality RCI exchange is to choose a resort that belongs to established brand such as HGVC, HIVC or Wyndham. You can also read non-member reviews of many resorts at Trip Advisor.

Read reviews on TripAdvisor, google, etc. I have both DVC and several timeshares that trade via RCI. Hiltons (HGVC) trade via RCI and are a good choice. There are nice resorts in HHI; it's much easier to get summer weeks via RCI than at DVC HHI. We also like Smugglers Notch in VT for family trips and Greenspring in Williamsburg. We tend to stay in nicer places, unless location is key, such as a tiny, outdated 2 BR RCI trade into Banff, which was one of our best vacations ever.
Agree that on TUG, you'll get honest assessments of places.
