RCI exchange list?

I am nearing a purchase of DVC resale. I have reviewed the very helpful opinion threads about why using points for RCI exchange usually isn't the best use of point value. I get the concept. All that said, I can't know now if there might come a time in the next 30 years that I might want to do this once, but I can't find a list anywhere of what is available via exchange. Does it change frequently or is there some list available to review?

And yes, anticipating tangential posts, we do vacation at DW or DL more than once a year, have for years, and will make good use of the membership within primary locations for DVC- I am just fact gathering, not planning to buy a membership to use it elsewhere...

Once you are a member, go to DVC.com and click on RCI. From there, it goes to what region you want to travel to and then it goes more specific from there.

complicated question. here's a breakdown:

1) here is a simple list of RCI resorts that currently "qualify" for DVC trades.

RCI resorts for DVC

2) the list of resorts with "actual" availability changes pretty much daily as other RCI owners scoop up great trading opportunities. you are better off requesting 1 year ahead of time if possible as the really good trades typically won't be sitting in the pool for available trades - those are just the leftovers after all requests have matched.

3) the list of resorts that "qualify" for DVC trades will vary through the years as some resorts move up or down in quality ratings. some resorts also switch affiliations between RCI and II - DVC started in RCI, moved to II and is back with RCI...i think shell and club intrawest just moved from RCI to II...so timeshare trading is constantly in flux...

DVC tends to list the top resorts that are not in Orlando for a given area. They tend not to list resorts with very limited availability or new and under construction resorts. The list will evolve over time with these principles in mind. They also may exclude certain resorts based on bad member experiences. Chalee listed a link to the currently available resorts. While it's a poor choice to buy for the purpose of exchanging, that doesn't mean there aren't reasonable exchange options to consider, there just aren't that many and they can be difficult or impossible to get. IMO, the only reasonable ways to plan to use for exchanging are as deposit first when you get stuck and need to extend the life of points you'd otherwise lose and for top options planned 1-2 years in advance with an ongoing search.
