My parents have just bought into a timeshare that allows them to exchange with RCI. My Mom and I are looking at going to WDW in the Fall of 2017. I have a lot of questions about getting a DVC though RCI. Has anyone done this? Also, is there a way to exchange with someone on here? Can we still get the dining plan?

Those with an in-bound RCI exchange can purchase a Disney Dining Plan and can add Disney's Magical Express (DME). Once the RCI to WDW Exchange is confirmed, you would receive a confirmation which will contain the phone number for DVC Member Services. You can call MS and identify yourself as an in-bound RCI exchange and they can assist you in added a dining plan and/or DME. Disney Dining Plans must be added at least 2 days prior to your check-in date and must be paid for in full at the time it's added.

Disney has a $95 resort services fee that inbound RCI exchanges pay to the resort which will be in addition to any fees your home timeshare and/or RCI charge for the exchange.

Can I add the dining plan if I buy my tickets through my company that has discount tickets?

TUG is the best resource and from what i have been reading, DVC resorts have gotten difficult to trade for. not much supply lately.

you will need a lot of trade power for your RCI resort and put your request in at 10-11 months out if you can.

What is TUG? What do you mean by trade power? We can start an active search at 24 months out.

a summer 3BR timeshare is very popular and will generate a lot of "trade power" which RCI (on the weeks side) shows as TPUs (Trade Power Units). a studio on the beach in the winter will have much lower trade power and most likely not be able to pull DVC no matter how early you start.

you may have said elsewhere that you are trading bluegreen points, which works differently. here is an example discussion:

Do they have points or weeks with RCI? With points it is easy to get into DVC but I believe we dont have an ongoing search option. With weeks, you cant trade into DVC unless you have enough trade power so it is more difficult.

Trade power isn't applicable exchanging Bluegreen points as long as you have enough points.

Bluegreen points and there are options for an ongoing search through Bluegreen for full week times.
