I know this is a DCL site.

Who is considering cruising this ship over DCL?
If you have already booked the Freedom when is your cruise?

I was just pricing out the Freedom for next Sept.....balcony cabin for two $1987. Not bad.....I also like the itinerary.

That will be our next cruise. I haven't booked it yet though.

We decided to book two cabins for our family of four since it was not that much more than for one cabin and we didn't want to be cramped. That ship looks fantastic so far!

Seriously considering it! The ship looks great...I just wonder how RCCL compares to Disney. I certainly wouldn't want to be disappointed.

It sounds very nice and my ta mentioned it if I wanted to save some $ over DCL but ... I told him no way. He told me everything it had on board which sounds cool, but I have a 4 year old son...maybe we'll try another line down the road? I love Disney cruise so much I am so afraid I would be dissapointed! has anyone else had good luck with activities on other lines for the younger ones?

We have the Freedom booked for March of 2007.

We are planning on booking for May - 2007. Love Disney...but the freedom sounds great for my then-to-be 9 year old!

Is this a new ship for RCCL? We are booked on the Sovereign in March 2006.

Yes this is the new ship RCCL is coming out with. I am seriously thinking about booking with them for next July (2006). I just have not made up my mind...........That is why I started this thread.

I am curious to know who will cruise with them first and their impression of the ship. I will be making a decision in the next few days. I would love to have a RCCL cruise travel magazine.

We have cruised ont he RCCL you are going on HeelMD. Do not expect it to be Disney and you will be fine. We had a nice time, it is just not Disney at all. Totally different type of cruise.

Won't be done until June of '06 I think

Good to know that. Especially since the cruise we are thinking of will be in July 2006.

We're booked for the July 16th voyage! It looks like an incredible ship. I've booked a room with a verandah for my husband & I, and a Promenade view room for the girls (18 & 21) across the hall. We can't wait!

If you book the July 16th cruise, check out the roll call thread on Cruise Critic. There are already quite a few people posting there that will be onboard.

I've read a lot of good reviews from Disney Cruisers that have also sailed on some of the newer RCCL ships and they seem to love the activities onboard...especially if your children are teens or older. To be honest, I'm kind of looking forward to a different type of cruise. I'm sure I will miss some of the Disney touches, but I have a feeling that I will find things about RCCL that I might like even better...I know my oldest daughter will!

We are looking at the 16th or the 23rd. I tiwll depend on what is available when I book. My DH keeps on telling me to just go ahead and do it.

We have booked w/ Freedom for 6/18/06! Looks like we will be the 3rd sailing...Almost booked w/ Mariner again because The Freedom was 200.00 more per person but then decided to just go for it...if we can save for it now..early on. Our 2nd son is graduating high school so a reason to go and celebrate! The ship looks great so far! Can't wait...Also, will be first time cruising out of Miami so will have to find whole new place to stay..we are from West Coast.

I am sooooo frustrated! I cannot get that video to work. I have a high speed access, and consider myself pretty darn computer literate, and whether I click on a link, or go directly to the website, it won't work. I can see the intro, but, then the screen goes black. If I click skip intro, it goes black. I downloaded flash player twice! Anyone else had the same trouble?

Edited.... for P.S. It's the video that highlights the new ship.... it was mentioned in another thread I think.
