Now say that quickly with a Mickey bar in your mouth :rotfl:

BTW Marlton Mom, every time I see your name thingie on the left (or whatever it's called :confused3) or your siggie I think of a big 'neighborhood' just south of where I grew up here in Maryland. It's where the brother closest to me in age first lived when he got married and the neighborhood holds alot of good memories for me! He moved away from there long ago and divorced that wonderful woman whom we all loved but I still fondly remember that pretty planned community!

I just shoot RAW+JPG. A 32GB card holds over 3000 photos (that RAW and JPG).

I have to be honest, have thought about using a bigger card. But I just don't have the guts.....

My fear is if that card "tanks" then you could potentially lose a number of pictures. I guess you could minimize the risk by back up regularly.

Look at it this way; your not taking more photos. The Photos + RAW are just much bigger. Plus, my s95 shoots 720P HD video, so the large card also serves as a buffer in case I run into any ad-hoc video opportunities.

So a lot of it is buffer. I download to a drive every night in the hotel room at Disney.

Well if you are downloading every night then you definitely can minimize your risk. :thumbsup2

I disagree that RAW files "require" post processing. Software that came with my camera will produce the exact same jpegs that the camera does. And the camera now produces jpegs from RAW files, IN CAMERA.

Post processing intentions or not, RAW files are as close to the negative as we are going to get.

Back in the film days, we did not throw the negative away once we got the prints....

True, the software that comes with the camera usually spits out a similar JPG, which can be a good thing for everyday users. But if you use something like Photoshop CS (not elements), it'll spit out a flat looking JPG until you take control.
