We were at Magic kingdom on 8/30/12. when I thought I was seeing weird shadows crossing below the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom screen outside the halls of Presidents. My DD and other kids were so involved with the game they didn't notice anything. Withing 5 minutes I notice 6 rodents run from the barrel near Columbia harbor house to a stack of boxes beside the screen and from there to another stack below a window at the Hall of presidents. My DD thought I was crazy until she looked behind one of the stacks and saw a mouse, plus a rat's tail close by, and they were not Cinderella cute.

:crazy2: Eew! Did you report it?

New special effects for the Halloween party?????????

Hey! Disney is rodent friendly. ;)

For pete's sake folks, it's Florida. There are all sorts of bugs and animals crawling around.

With all of the trees around the parks, I'd be surprised if rodents didn't get into MK.

That was my thought on it.

Besides, I actually really like rats and mice. Now those flying roaches....*shudder* :scared1:

We see them often at the parks. What is funnier is when people decide they are something else because it is Disney. We were leaving Epcot one night when a big rat ran across our path. The woman behind us told her kids to "chase the bunny". More than once I've heard people say "that looked like a rat! I wonder what that was... they don't have rats at Disney".

EWWWWWWWWWWWW:eek: From your post are we to assume that the rat's tail was NOT, at the time, attached to the rat that it belonged to?

That's exactly what I thought until I refused to blink.

DD thought the rat was hiding so it could pounce on the mouse.

Rodents are nearly impossible to get rid of, and in a place like Disney they're highly beneficial. People don't understand how much garbage they really eat. It's the circle of life kiddies, and you have to understand what you might happen to see isn't 1% of what's really there.

Funny, we saw the same rat running back and forth in the same location on Thursday night. I bet it had a nice peaceful little spot there until Disney went and installed that portal lol.

I really wish I had not read this. :worried:
I realize that they are there. I am always looking down, especially at night.

Scratch one Columbia Harbor House from the CS eating list... unless, of course, they add ratatouille to the menu...

Last year before they moved Dumbo I was sitting on a circular bench around a tree or plants waiting for my sister and nephew to get off Dumbo. It has just rained and palmetto bugs--the big roaches--were running out of a nearby drain and onto the bench. I about had a heart attack and have lived in Florida and know they're there--but didn't expect them THERE. On the trip before, there was one running between the cracks of the wood at the Jungle Cruise. The cast members kepts looking nervously down at my sisters feet until she finally asked them what they were all starting at!
