HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!!! My DW and I were married 9 years ago today. And we are here celebrating in the very place that we took our Honeymoon, WL at WDW. In fact when we were here for our honeymoon, the WL had only been open for a couple of months. It still has the same draw as it did back then for us.
Anyway, today we are heading back to AK. It is going to be a somewhat relaxed day, so that we do not get burned out before the end of the week. We are bypassing the EMH at EPCOT so we get to sleep a little longer. HAA, we have a 5 month old, who gets to sleep longer!! We meet our friends in the lobby and head for a bus. When we arrive at AK, the lines to get in are long but since it is not EMH, I use m DIS knowledge and head through Rainforest Cafe to their entrance and there is not a soul at that turnstile. We are in in a matter of minutes. First thing on the agenda is It's Tough To Be a Bug. We haven't seen this show before, but now it is a must. I like it better than the muppets as far as 3-D shows.
After ITTBAB, we just hang out around the Tree of Life for a little while and get some photos for the ol scrapbook. Then we head over to Maharajah Jungle Trek. They wouldn't let DD go in with her drink so we let our friends go on and said we would meet them afterwards. Once DD finished the drink, we headed through, kind of hurriedly, but we had seen it last year and not too worried about seeing it again this year. When we got to the end, they were waiting on us, obviously didn't take them too long either. From here, we headed to Tarzan Rocks, another show we haven't seen. It was a good show, but now I can say I've seen it and don't really need to go back. I'll take FotLK anyday over Tarzan Rocks. Well, since Tarzan Rocks exits right at Dinoland, we head in to see if there is anything we would like to do here. Not really, too much like a carnival to me and as I stated earlier, we have these rides close to home, just not this theme. We did ride Triceratop Spin since there was no wait. Then we headed for the exit. I think from here on out, unless they add or change something at AK, it will be only a half day park at most for us. Come in early, hit the safari, ITTBAB, Tree of Life, FotLK, characters and just some general browsing and we would be done.
Back at WL, we go down to Cub's Den to let DD make another craft. This time it is a door hanger that says, "Don't Bug Me" and we cover it with foam ladybugs and flowers. Really cute. Then we head to the room and change into our swimsuits and hit the pool. After swimming for a while, we go up and get ready to go to Downtown Disney for the evening. We absolutely love this place and always spend too much money. We had to hit the Christmas Store, Memories store, Once Upon A Toy, World of Disney and of course the Pin Store. We got a cool pin where they take your photo and superimpose it in front of the castle or other scene. Then they put it on the pin and give you a whole sheet of the pics which is about the size of a stamp. After we finish shopping, we sit down with a Ghiradelli Ice Cream cone and let the kids play in the water fountain areas. Now it is time to go, so loaded down with bags we head back to the lodge and hit the sack. Tomorrow is EMH at MK.
