My rates dropped again for my trip starting tomorrow. I originally started with rates up around $260 for my 9 day trip after the last drop I am down to $158.27 (including all taxes etrc.) for 9 days in a mid size SUV :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

whoisfigment...

when you return could you please post your experiences with Alamo, and the condition of your vehicle? I've always used National before, but they couldn't come close to the Alamo rate for a "midsize SUV" (equinox or equivalent). I booked one for December at the same rate for 9 days.

I have used Alamo several times in the past. The pluses are they are onsite, have good rates, and I have alway received good service. The only downside is sometimes the line is extremely long. If you sign up for the quick silver program it should eliminate the line issue but I have not used quick silver at the Orlando location before and will post how it was when I get back.

national and alamo are owned by the same company. I rent from both. Just rented a SUV for a week for 265.00 from Alamo, will play with the #'s but wanted to get the reservation in.

Where are you renting from Orlando or are you renting and driving?

My rental is from MCO, used a code with Chevron Travel Club and the public coupon code (see alamo site) for $15 off per week, (D42C). My rate of $152.81 includes $4.50 for my frequent flyer mile program. :) It is for Dec 6 to Dec 15. Chevy Equinox (midsize SUV).

Thank you so much! I just saved another $60.00. I now have a minivan for 9/30-10/8 for only $222.44. What a deal. My original quote was $332.68.

Try using the following codes. 489304 id/corp code (BJ's code they do not ask for a membership card or anything) coupon D42C internet coupon from Alamo site. I was able to price out the 7 passenger minivan for 165.01 including all taxes

cool cheaper then before and I got a mini van thought I did but it was a SUV and you know the price was the same taking it sunday as it was taking it tuesday.. :cheer2: !!

Alamo was just fine but they didn't have any of the Equinox SUVs (they have a really efficient 3.4L engine). Instead I got "upgraded" to a Trailblazer which has a more fuelish 4.2L. The difference is one of 25-26mpg on the highway versus 20 or so mpg. I didn't do that much driving but bought around 17 gallons of gas (some of this was no doubt because the tank was just at "F" when I picked it up but probably 2-3 gallons down).

The Trailblazer was in great shape--it had 10,000 miles and looked and smelled new. It had a remote control entry too which is great.
