Most public promos will end the week before (so since dec 25th is a sunday, think ending the friday or saturday the weekend before that...17th or so)...
You can try doing a "mock" up trip on the DL website , save it but don't book it, you *might* get a pin code emailed to you. But don't try that yet- do it in about two months from now.
Rack rate is about $450-$480 a night. It's a hard time to get discounts for.
I totally agree with this, TeddiBarra. You're absolutely right. If there are any deals to be had on the 3 DLR hotels - either sent out via e-mail or regular mail or posted on the DLR website - they will likely only extend through the weekend just before Christmas. Like you said, I'm thinking 12/17 or maybe 12/18 would be as far as a discount goes, and not all discounts will have the same cut-off dates.
It boils down to that DLR offers the good discounts for weeks when they may need to attract extra guests, and they don't offer discounts for time frames when they expect tons of business. Their attendance has gone up, and so the excellent AP rates have begun to mysteriously decrease, becoming few and far between at times or just not being as 'good' as they used to be....or an AP rate might pop up on the AP calendar for 2 days and then suddenly it's gone in the blink of an eye, and you never know it's there.
I've gone to DLR on the weekend before Christmas 3 years in a row, and the discounts pretty much stopped right at the end of each of those weekends. And, not coincidentally, the crowds picked up right after that!
And I agree about the mock-up "Saved Offer" trick. Right now, I think the Disney Destinations database that has sent those offers out to us is in overload becase so many people tried to get a PIN code at the same time (probably my fault, as I shouldn't have publicized it!

), and there are only so many rooms included in each wave of PIN code offers. I think that it's best to wait a bit for some of the PIN codes to expire or for when they are not claimed by their "claim by" date, and then, most likely, there will be more sent out. If someone were to try the Saved Offer trick now, and they got a PIN that did not extend to December, Disney Destinations may not send out another one. So it's best to wait a bit to ensure that any offer received will cover some late Fall dates. So your advice to wait a couple of months is very important! Timing is everything!
